Like the title asks. My understanding is you can use the ford app to remotely start your Explorer ST, but what directly from the fob, is that a thing or do I have to get something aftermarket?

yes you can use the fob
press the center lock button 1 time then press the 2x button under the center button 2 times
of coarse you have to be in range.

Yep, ford does it’s remote access part mostly right. No cost. And like you asked, you can use the key fob. Look at what Toyota is doing. It’s ridiculous.

I use the fob 99% of the time because it's so much faster than FordPass. I use the app mostly for checking oil life and tire pressure or if I'm not sure if I locked it when my remote is out of range. It's also great to check up on your dealer to see if the car is actually being serviced or just sitting for days on the lot. LOL

Same. The range is really good so that helps. I just wish the FordPass app would show the status of the car being locked vs unlocked.

I agree! Such a simple thing to update in the software.

Yup. Well we know how it goes with ford and updating software lol I will say though there has been a lot of ford pass app updates lately. So who knows, maybe. I need to find a way to leave feedback and request that feature.

Reading this got me thinking about that again and I did a little searching and couldn't find anything online. So I looked in the app and under Account > Help there is a chat option. I did this and asked the agent how you submit feedback and feature requests and they responded "Through this chat". So I asked for the app to show if the vehicle is locked at a glance without having to request the vehicle be locked. They said they submitted the request for that feature. So maybe if enough people request it, it's something that could be added.

Same here.

My Stinger GT didn't come standard with remote start on their fob, so I had an aftermarket one installed for $250. But then I was carrying 2 fobs on my key chain.

Very happy FORD gives you one standard.

Just did the same thing last night! They even gave me a case number so I think they actually did submit it.

Going to remove the telemetry device, that's order of business #1.
Then FENG, and Auto Start Stop.

Outside of that I'm going to keep it the way it is, my wife will be driving this 99% of the time.
I prefer driving my Focus RS anyways, way better handling.
One surprising thing about the ST though is that turning radius, it is incredible.

My wife’s Bronco does not have remote start option from the factory. It is not on the key fob but you can still do it from the app. You have to pay extra to do it from the fob which is kinda silly

Seriously?? Does she have a base version? Sad if that’s the way they’re going.

no she has a big bend, very lightly optioned as well when we got it you had to take what you could find and unfortunately we were in a position where we didn't have time to wait for our order, and most dealers were jacking the price way up...
