Auto Stop/Start in Sport Mode?

I was under the assumption that driving in Sport mode completely disabled the auto stop/start function. But I was driving around today & noticed when I switched to Sport mode the disabled button lit up. I was curious so I pressed it to enable it and auto stop kicked in. Is my car broken? lol

No the default in sport mode is ASS off. You can manually turn ASS on just like you can turn it off in other drive modes where ASS on is the default. This is normal according to the owner manual. Also the button allows you to go back and forth between ASS off and on as you wish. The next time you start the vehicle it will reset to normal defaults.

Thx. Funny, in my previous vehicle, 2020 Honda Odyssey, it completely disabled ASS in Sport mode. So I assumed the same in this vehicle. Guess that’s what happens when you assume right?

LOL it also had paddle shifters. The Odys are surpringly and relatively quick. Car & Driver got a 14.5 sec 1/4 mile time with theirs fully stock.
