So I spent quite a bit of time logging 0-60s via Dragy this past weekend while I test out all the 5-star tunes (all 93 octane) i've received thus far. All logs were done the same afternoon, on the same road at fixed points which has a 1% grade up in one direction and 1% grade down in the other direction, under virtually the same weather conditions (64-68 deg F). At no time did I launch the truck in any way so this should provide some solid groundwork upon which we can build some solid base line #s without expert launching being a large factor as all runs were simply stomp & go. Only caveat: my rig setup may be a bit slower than some as i have a few hundred extra pounds on board in tools, roof basket, 31.6" all terrains, etc.

Here are my results:
  • Bone Stock: 6.47, 6.50
  • 5-star 93 engine only tune (stock trans tune): 5.41, 5.51, 5.52, 5.54, 5.63
  • 5-star 93 engine w/very minor 5-star trans tune: 5.33, 5.38 (x2), 5.44, 5.59, 5.60, 5.62
  • 5-star 93 perf tune V1: 5.35, 5.47, 5.52, 5.73, 5.88, 5.91
  • 5-star 93 perf tune V2: 5.47, 5.61, 5.72, 5.80, 5.88, 5.94
In a nutshell, you can see that the 5-star trans tuning yielded very inconsistent results. The largest delta on the engine only 5-star tune was 0.22s and compare that with 0.56s on the 5-star 93 perf tune V1 (which has a full tranny tune). However, the fastest tune under these conditions appears to be the engine only with very minor 5-star trans tuning at a 5.33s but not by much over the fastest engine only with no tranny tuning at 5.41s.

Just got new 5-star tune. Definitely the best yet. Same method of no launch, same temp outside etc. 5.18s 3CC158A8-0A48-4ECC-B491-998C501F4FAC.png

Wow. I wonder how much difference your negative performance mods hurt (the tires and tools and stuff).

Don't take this the wrong way, but that's hugely unimpressive stock, and the big difference in times between tune and not tuned means they're pulling a lot more power from that tune, which would make me uneasy if you're stock other than tune. If a lot of your issue is those tires and such, then your car would rip with a more standard setup.. Hopefully someone else chimes in.

I was thinking the same thing. Stock STs should do a 5.1 or 5.2 0-60...so 6.5 seconds stock is practically XLT 4-cylinder territory. :( That's a lot of negative performance mods!

Yup, C&D got 5.2 sec and MT got 5.3 sec.

Without brake boosting and 31” AT’s?
They launch using the best acceleration on 100% stock vehicles. It should be noted that the ST's stock tires (20" or 21" wheels) are the same 31" in height.

Car and Driver: "Everything You Need to Know about Our Comprehensive Car Testing"
https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a32018270/how-we-test-cars/

"It is up to the tester to determine the best launch technique, and this process can mean that some cars require just two or three launches to get the best possible time. Conventional automatics may only require five launches. High-power, rear-wheel-drive cars equipped with manual transmissions are the most time-consuming, and finding the sweet spot of balancing wheelspin and clutch engagement may take 10 runs or more."

Also, it doesn’t look like @ the time he had the mega Intercooler. Every run got slower probably due to heat soak. Just speculation though.

Stomp 'n Go, no brake torque, over 3/4 tank 93 octane fuel, 100% bone stock as delivered from dealer, with some tools & stuff in the back:

For comparison sake, I did an immediate Brake Torque run and was ~1/4 sec faster:
(interesting note - my previous best w/brake torque was 5.27 sec and a 1/4 tank fuel at the same temps, so a .14 sec slower run with over 3/4 tank fuel)

Lately the ST feels alittle sluggish, i decided to brake boost it to 2100, best i could achieve was 6.042 0-60 and 8.6 in the quarter. OAT was 87 with 77% humidity.

No one would be feeling bad with an 8.6 quarter.

ZFG E50 tune with intercooler and afe intake and about 1/4 tank of gas. Did a second one and got 4.17
Is your Dragy reporting accurate temps? Most of the time mine is off by as much as +40 degrees.

I just tried it again and it's off by +14 degrees, which is about the most accurate it's ever been. Lol

Tried reinstalling the app, did nothing.
