this is hilarious. But seriously the irony isn’t lost on me because this should be there on Fords by now. Especially for the top of line models. My 2017 X has most of that and more. Just two buttons, the glove box and hazard lights. Doors open and close automatically. The setting for sport mode stays on. And it doesn’t even need turned on you just go. No forced features, even saves settings to the key fob so it knows who’s driving. Walking away locks it. They’re so far ahead on tech. Not here to poop on anyones tastes and preferences just want what I’m used to from other brands. 1st time Ford owner here so learning what I can to upgrade!

I've always used the parking break when in park, nothing worse than the bind going back into drive from park and the pressure on transmission while parked. Even on flat ground a heavy person getting in and out can cause back and forth movement without brake engaged, same with loading stuff. It is called parking break for a reason, use it.

It's quite telling that we're not seeing continuous reports of breaks. Witness no new reports on my "Rear Axle Bolt Poll" thread.

Now we have a ton of people talking about breaks, but that's about it. Just talking.

And that my fellow ST owners, is that ...

Jsur had the recall done when the dealer was replacing my seat cover. I really hope this is just in my head but my ST does not feel the same.
Edit: yeah I stand by it. 100% is not the same. Not saying it’s less power necessarily but the power curve is definitely different without a doubt. This freaking sucks. F u ford. Guess I’m gonna need to tune after all.

No one talks more about than you do. Talk about an obsession.

Please stop with the rear axle bolt pole garbage you’re embarrassing yourself and pissing off people. you’ve got rear axle bolt pole of the brain and it has metastasized throughout your body.

I am not concerned about this issue, but I do read the comments. I still do not understand why anyone follows the topic if all you are going to do is complain about the poster. Just ignore him if you do not like what he posts. Sometimes it is like freshmen year in high school on this forum.

Ford sold somewhere around 40k STs since '20. There are 5600 members on this site, many of who don't even own an ST, probably 3K who have maybe posted here a couple of times and aren't even slightly active. And still, CFG (you know who I'm talking about) still thinks his polls are statistically significant...they are not. He's also under the impression that the few hundred people who are actually active on this site somehow also signifies something significant since "we're not seeing continuous reports of breaks....".

He's neither funny nor informative. Although, he did have one good post dealing with the ST versus the competition. It's taken me 2 1/2 years to get to the 1000 post club, and I'd like to think I've added some good content to the site. He's over 800 in four months, meaning he'll pass @UNBROKEN by next June! Most likely with 3 vs 4 bolt posts.

I understand and agree with the survey results not being statistically significant. I appreciate all the knowledge on the forum from a mod perspective, but otherwise it is an opinion group and everyone seems to have one. Whether it be right or wrong. When I want real answers I refer to the owner's manual, the repair manual, or a mechanic.

A survey is not an opinion, it is a report of factual experiences. Let's understand that right out of the box and leave our high school way of thinking behind us.

Additionally, such queries being on an ST specific forum (where people will likely drive their car hard or mod them) makes said "surveys" drastically more significant.

Common sense people, just common sense ...

Hey, I am not belittling research. An internet survey on a forum is likely to be considered suspect from a reliability perspective. I did respond to it though as I was interested. I do research as part of my job and that sometimes includes a survey, but what people say in a survey is their opinion and may not be based in fact. And that has to be accounted for. I will be quiet now.

Yet you continue to spew nonsense. Not common sense. Good grief!

No need to be quiet. You're probably one of few in this thread that aren't blocked for giving information, suggestions, or having differing opinions.

As a Career Firefighter/AEMT I deal with facts, not emotions. Otherwise, people can get hurt or die.

And the fact remains that when an internet forum, which carries a large number of members, conducts a poll specific to the audience on which the poll's question is focused, that the poll carries immense weight.

It seems like people today (across a wide variety of topics) have intentionally/unintentionally rejected reality in lieu of whatever suits them. I find this highly disturbing.

So the fact remains that even if just a fraction of breaks were occurring as people would have us believe, that this forum would literally be flooded with thousands and thousands of beleaguered owners reporting actual breaks. But is that the case? Nope.

What we do see is a large number of irate and upset owners posting about the topic, but who have not actually experienced the problem themselves.

The evidence just isn't there.

According to the complaint below on the NHSTA this person claims that there have been "dozens" of people who have experienced this problem and even provides a link to this forum. Hope the NHSTA doesn't search here for evidence to start a recall because they will not find discussions for "dozens" of incidents actually occurring.

Yeah... that's an overstated number as I believe that thread has 2 maybe 3 that have had an actual failure.

We already know FORD has officially reported more than "dozens", they reported exactly 235 at around the same time that person wrote.

Which mathematically is still an infinitesimally small number compared to the 252,936 vehicles effected (.092% or less than one tenth of a percent).

If just 5% incurred a bolt shear, there would be over 12,000 incidents and we'd see a huge number of people with breaks. But we don't.

I was not trying to get into math which my skills are lacking, I was trying to show that someone referenced this forum to back up actual instances for data to the NHSTA. If we really have Government employees pursuing data to enforce a recall, they will not find it here. All I was trying to do is this point out.

I'm no mathematician either, but honestly, we're just talking about the utilization of basic computational skills here. And I do not think governmental agencies would use any form of social media platform as their basis for statistical data. It will have to either come from FORD's own documented list of actual warranty repairs made, or from a class action suit by tens of thousands of individual owners reporting said problem. And from either of those two sources, the data just isn't there to support the claim made by some of an across the board model item failure. That's all I was trying to point out.
