My spring should be here tomorrow and hopeful installed soon. I have just one question no one ever answers.
people keep saying wait a week before align to let it "settle" ok I will do that but what is going to settle? are they suggesting the spring get weaker and car lowers more? curious does anyone know what happens?
or is that just bro science?

Yes, top secret bro science...seriously, a spring will settle a bit just due to having a large amount of weight placed on it over a period of time. Natural and no big deal maybe a 1/4 inch.

It would take a week for this to happen? I’m just curious and will search the interwebz tomorrow. I’m def going to measure day it’s installed and then a week later just to see myself.

I was just looking at the diff between the lethals and the H&R's myself.

Just driving the weight of the vehicle will settle them normally like TMac said. I've lowered with springs and coils a few times on diff vehicles. They all have to settle a bit. Since its just springs on the ST its easy cause you don't have to worry about 'adjusting' anything later.

Deff put up some pics, the lethals I hear are a little lower in the rear so make it look more level front to back.

Yea Tmac nailed what they say it will settle 1/4" some 1/2" that was from a website that custom made coils and leaf's. I just did a QA1 coilover set up on a truck and its been a few months noting has settled. the fender is still right at the tire where I wanted it. I have a weird OCD thing that if something gets stuck in my head I have to know why lol.

I actually like the little rake in the back. reason for me buying Steedas at first but they just not low enough. Wont tow very much but I will a few times hope the back dont sag to much.

Thats my draw to the Lethal's cause I'll never tow or haul enough at once to matter. Daily driving will look more 'even'. Noth that i'd lose sleep about it being a little higher in the back.

I personally get my car aligned the day of install then realigned a week or two after. This gives you the best of both worlds. Many places offer unlimited alignments per life of a vehicle!

Excellent point Logan. New to the show and already making an important contribution. A couple years ago when I installed the Steeda springs, my guy said they would settle. Made sense. When the springs were installed the alignment was checked and within specs. To Logan's point, I should have had the alignment checked after the settlement period. When it came time to replac the tires, it was obvious the alignment had been off. Tires rotated every oil change so about every 5k. The wear was not severe, but was noticeable. Caution however, as posted on this forum, there is a limit to the amount of alignment.. Unbroken will be a good source of info on that topic.

Yeah any adjustment to suspension should always have alignment checked. Most people once a year is good for normal driving over 10K miles a year can push things out of wack. Always had lifetime alignment on my vehicles cause after two its paid for itself.

anyone know how the lethal springs compare to the steeda's in terms of pure handling performance? Don't really care about looks just looking for the best possible handling. I've read reviews on here that place Steeda as better than H&R for that purpose but just wondering about the new lethals.

I just installed the Lethal spring yesterday. I can not even tell I changed them the ride is the same as stock. I have not gone on any on ramps or twisty roads yet to say if they handle better. A few guys have said they do but thats just what I read.
from reading again the Steedas are supposed to be the best for handling. I like the Steeda rake a little higher in back but over all they were not low enough so I went with Lethal. the ST sits pretty flat now but the body lines give it a raked appearance still.
I know most of this you dont care about I just started rambling with my thoughts on Lethals springs. From your post I would say get the Steedas and the sway bar also. everyone has good things to say about that sway bar also.

Side note on alignments the owner of Clark frame and alignment told me under normal conditions just get your car aligned every time you get new tires.

I've had Steeda springs and rear sway bar on for 3 years now. Still satisfied. Enjoy taking it out on the Blueridge around Boone and Blowing Rock. I like the handling but have nothing to compare to other than stock. Give the Lethals some time to settle, recheck the alignment, and if the handling doesn't match your expectations, upgrade to the Steeda rear sway bar. Unbroken has logged a bunch of miles on his HRs. I have to believe if he wasn't happy with it he would have changed them out for something else, and maybe he has, but he'll give you his unvarnished assessment of the HR springs if you ask.

It would be a good idea to let it settle, I don't know about a week but if you wanted to be safe no real damage will be done just waiting the extra few days. Springs definitely do settle but it should only be a day or two of daily commute to get it to settle completely.

I think you tagged the wrong person I have Lethal springs and super happy. But you did confirm what others have said the steeda springs and sway bar are a good combo for handling.

Heard back from Steve at Lethal Performance support.. "So with the springs mounting, as long as they sit properly in the perch, you are good to go. Sometimes they are just stamped with no reason. But if they sit properly, you are good to go."

Can someone that’s had them on for a minute get F/R measurements from the axle centerline to the fender? Trying to compare to H&R.
