ZFG map revisions for new modifications

Anyone else having a hard time getting revised maps from Adam @ ZFG after adding new parts and modifications?

I recently added SPD catted downpipes, AFE intake and Xtreme-DI EVO HPFP and can't seem to get a revision from him to run these new modifications. I submitted calibration change TWICE through the website, emailed him several times, left chat messages on the ZFG website. He did reach out once via email, but he asked if I just needed a revision for the HPFP, and I replied that I needed a revision for ALL THREE modifications, not just the HPFP.

I have had nothing but good things to say about ZFG and have had zero issues other than me taking a long time doing and sending datalogs on E50, but the 93 map I was using was perfect. I also have access to Palm Beach Dyno maps and got a revision so at least I could drive the ST home.

Is he just backlogged or have I been blacklisted?

I mean we've had a few emails back and forth, and he seems confused by my change requests, despite sending the info to him several different ways, including all three email addresses, change request via his website and using the chat option. He said in his last email he can't find my previous email chain and what mods I've added despite telling him what I need SEVERAL times.

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. I requested revisions 16-17 days ago. This is normal?

Adam has gone to a pretty specific way to submit data logs and change requests and it’s spelled out on his website. You sending him 40 emails and messages in every form possible probably chapped his ass a little bit. lol

I did everything he asked. I didn't send 40 messages. lol.

He keeps sending messages from different email addresses, (calibrations@zfg, sales@zfg and adam@zfg) so I hit reply to ALL. I left two messages in the member chat and he asked me to submit a change request. I did that complete with my previous order number and he replied "so the only change is the HPFP?" even after submitting the parts I've added.

This has been ongoing for almost 3 weeks, hence why I asked if its normal to take this long to get revisions. I know he's been busy, but 10 days to reply to inquiries is too long. All it takes is a message or email stating I'm in the queue, or that he's extremely busy, but there's no communication other than asking a question.

I sent an email about purchasing a tune and differences in power between the 93 and adjustable tune. Took about 6 days. I went ahead n ordered the GearHead AO tune while waiting. If I keep this vehicle I may still order a ZFG tune if I'm looking for more power as I know everyone out there says it's the best thing since sliced bread.

You need to follow the process and submit the change request through the website (in tuning central) with all proper information.

https://www.tunedbyzfgracing.com/zfg-racing-tuning-central

Put all of your new mods in the comments and the request will get worked in the order it was received.

That information is right on the website in the Explorer ST custom tune product listing...

I sent in datalogs over a month ago as per your "instructions" that came with your revision email. After 3 weeks and I didn't get a response, I sent you an email.

-crickets-

No response, no "your datalogs look good", NOTHING.

While I love your tunes, they are hands down the *BEST* (I've tried others), your customer service is HUGELY lacking. It took you almost a month to send me a revision and ZERO comunication.

Trying your case in the "court of public opinion" is probably not going to aid your cause. Just an FYI.

This forum is here to share experiences....

Good, the bad and the ugly.

What do you suggest? That I just accept shitty customer service and keep it to myself? ‍

I heap praise on vendors who provide a good product and excellent customer service and I'm positive that my early "public" opinions of this guy's tunes in multiple different places helped build his reputation.

While I may be a minority, NO ONE who has spent money with a vendor wants to be IGNORED.

A simple 20 second email would have been satisfactory, but he's too busy to say "your revision looks good"? C'mon man. ‍

You can share whatever you'd like on the forum (within reason), no one is stopping you. If your experience has been bad, you have every right to share that information. I'm just not sure your approach to the situation is going to have the effect you desire. Especially since you're dealing with essentially a one person operation.

And…he’s been on vacation. He posted that on FB a while back. Dunno if your timelines cross but he was clear that nothing would be done on those dates.

I would be fine with that but it's been over a month since I submitted my data log.

All I can do is reach out via email and I can't get a response. Even though it says leave a message on the website chat box or to text him, he doesn't respond. Why tell customers to reach out these ways, but then never respond? I've sent ONE email asking if he received my datalog, and its been about two weeks. No reply.

I understand he's busy. He's the best tuner for the platform hands down. I don't think I'm being unreasonable when I say taking a month or more to get revisions or answers to communication regarding datalogs isn't good business practice.

And that's the only reason I'm even posting here. I can't get any type of response any other way. -shrugs-

What is the right approach then? It states on his website to leave him a message in the chat box, or even to text him but he doesn't reply. I sent in a datalog with my file and order # over a month ago. No response. Why have a chat box or tell people to text him when he can't or won't respond? It's frustrating.

So, in your opinion, how else should I handle this situation? What would be a reasonable amount of time to reply to inquiries, getting revisions to paying customers or get communication regarding datalogs? A month? Two months?

I don't think I'm being unreasonable.

hey guys, not trying to hijack the thread, but i recently bought a tune from Adam and im having trouble uploading my tune to the TDN. I downloaded the stock file which took nearly 17 minutes, and then when i go to sync it it says data transfer successful, TDN upload fail. any suggestions?

sorry to hear about your experience @pelotonracer2, ive been following along on other threads and from what ive heard Adam is indeed swamped at the moment ontop of the holiday closure.

Do a search for MPV13 and TDN issues. Others reported a similar issue. Hope that helps.

Honestly I followed his submit data logs online and he got back to me within 3 days for both revisions, I also sent him a text and he got back within a few hours on a specific question.

I’m an experienced tuner for my own vehicles, so I have a clue about a 1-person tuner headaches and revisions timing. Adam/ZFG is a 1-person tuner who is, from what I’ve seen firsthand and through others here on this forum, is hands down the best tuner available for this Explorer ST platform.

I also know that everyone who buys something thinks they are the customer and they want it NOW! That’s much more prevalent today with the children of Boomer parents who bought them everything they wanted right away. I’m one of those parents and my adult children are the same, so I’m there now.

Anyway, the moral of this story is; if you want the best, sometimes you will need to wait until it’s your turn to get the attention.

Did you even read this thead? 3 weeks is a bit much to be waiting for a response.
