Anyone have access and post the instructions to remove and replace the hvac controller? thats the real next hurdle is how to physically install this one.

I think your best bet is going to be to go into the service manuals available to rent on motorcraftservice.com You can rent them for $23 for 72 hours. I've used it a few times and it helps a lot. It's not as detailed as it could be, but it's good

Perhaps I've missed this, did the change move the readout to the viewscreen or is there simply no temp display?

My 2020 has the temp readout on the HVAC module face, but it appears it was removed for either 21 or 22. Same thing happened with the F-150's, and possibly other models as well. The temp display is now on the sync screen at the top

Can confirm, you will need to write the hvac asbuilt in forscan. Ill grab some picture but the tear down is straight forward but a the clips make for a little anxiety 20221213_180034.jpg

Nice work! What did the controller end up running $300 and change? and was the forscan programming pretty straightforward backup and re-write or was it pretty involved?

about 110 when you buy online from a dealer. part LB5Z-19980-D

Programming was just saving the HVAC asbuilt, and then writing it out. Some of the module works without programming, but none of the seat control buttons did.

I did mine in my F-150 over the weekend and it was the same deal, drop in factory as-builts and carry on. Glad to hear it went smooth

My 21 still has it with a build date of 3-27-21

It may be trivial, but I feel exactly the same as you. I spend more than triple what locoliberty did for the HVAC module with temp readouts for my truck. The little details matter

I agree 100% on this one. Not needed AT ALL. However, I find myself wanting just the same. I ended up paying around $120 for my rear HVAC control because I wanted it right now from wherever I could find at the time. Didn't matter it was free if I wait :) This just seems so obvious that it should be there that the mod has to be done!!
