Was told roughly 3K .... comes with a new BOV also. It will be relocated also. Perfect timing for me. I wanted to wait until October. Space out my mods and money lol.

Downpipes and exhaust will be in next week. Went back to Borla. I think with the high flows it will sound pretty legit.

I had ordered the borla awhile ago and it was backed order and on week 6 they announced the corsa but no real word on release date. I cancelled the borla for it. But I kept playing the videos and believe the S type is what I’m looking for. I called Steeda this morning and they had one in stock so I pulled the trigger. Plus I am tired of looking at the little oem chrome tips!!

I’ve got the Borla ATAK and I love it. Deep sound and definitely turns heads when I want it to. SPD downpipes going in this week will add to it for sure! No regrets with Borla!

My only issue with Borla is pipe size. I have no desire to replace a 2.25” system with another 2.25” system. I’m waiting to see if Woosh gets theirs done with the full 2.5” mid pipe like I talked to Ron about...if so I’m going that route and I’ll rework the ends of the SPD DP’s to 2.5” and v-band it all together.

Wonder if by doing large diameter and downpipes if you’ll get more turbo sound. Love hearing more of the turbo.

Thinking about this modification. I realize I can reassemble the front end on the ST winging it regarding the fastener torques or try to do it properly like the assembly line. Are the various required fastener torques already know to folks on this form or does one need to find a 2020 Ford Explorer Assembly Manual to get the proper fastener torques?

It’s 90% little screws and a few small bolts. Use common sense and don’t overtighten and you’ll be fine.

Pulled the trigger on the Whipple intercooler. Does the black flat backing behind the grill get tossed or is it left in place? Has anyone sprayed black paint (light coat) on the front of the intercooler to help hide the exposed silver of the intercooler which shows through the grill opening? I realize there would be some reduction in heat transfer due to any extra coatings being applied to the unpainted intercooler.

All OEM parts are retained for a normal install. I chose to remove the grille shutters but you don’t have to.

That’s debatable but I feel better with them gone.
If you remove the entire grill shutter module, you will eventually get a check engine light and will need to be turned off in the tune.

What I'm getting at is don't take them out of you plan on running the stock tune.

I only removed the slats. The frame and module are in place and plugged in.
