I had similar experience with poor/missing responses, and I asked literally 3 short questions. One question was about the app, a reply like 'I don't support the app' would be fine, but I got nada.. I did get the 'baseline' and 'custom' tunes in acceptable timeframes but prefer working with a business that responds after they take my $$. I went back to my PBD tune, which I prefer anyway. To each their own...

It is kinda shady to take $700 and not even respond to general questions.... If he doesn't have time, he needs to hire someone to communicate for him.

I’ve flashed back to stock since many members on here have said that the baselines are meant solely for data logging purposes. I think by the weekend we should have the revisions. Hang tight bud you’re not alone lol.
FWIW Adam basically said I was good to go after datalogging the baseline. Only change he did was remove Auto Start Stop at my request. Everything else was unchanged. My suspicion is he has done so many of these that he can pretty much nail it first go round for most especially if you list all of your current modifications and fuel type. So flash back to stock is probably unnecessary.

Mine is a platinum. The stock tune is different but I'm assuming everything else is the same once tunes. I'm not sure though. I expected a bit more then the base tune offers as far as performance goes with the larger intercooler installed. So hopefully there is a bit more coming. If not, I'm going to be a bit upset it has taken so long and there hasn't been any communication.... 5 star is definitely looking like a better option at this point. 1/3rd the cost and they actually respond to questions.... they also say their tunes are dms. I have full buyers remorse now feeling like I may have wasted several hundred for a tuner who seems to be past his prime, enjoying his success with too much money to answer questions... Hopefully I'm proven wrong.

Unfortunately, the tuning is his side gig and usually absent around holiday's (labor day is around the corner). Not speaking for him, just speaking for people having similar stories during holiday's with him.

Regarding 5 star, the transmission tune with them would make you have buyer's remorse right off the bat. Far as more power with the intercooler, he will only go as far as you tell him as he has different tune profile's. And yes, the Platinum tuned will make the same exact power as a tuned ST.

If you think 5Star is even in the same league as Adam, much less better…then by all means call 5Star.
And stop crying…jeez. Boo hoo…you spent some money. So did everyone else. No promises on timelines were made and things are taken care of in the order they’re received. You’re not special…you didn’t jump to the front of the line. Things take as much time as they take depending on the workload at a given time and your questions have probably been answered 1000 times already.

My question, like "did you receive the logs I submitted" I guess I should have searched the forum for an answer to that....

The lack of communication is unprofessional. I could care less how you feel about him. If you own a business and offer a service, you need to at least communicate. 2 weeks without a single question being answered is not good business.

By your post count, it appears you live on the forum. good for you bud, hope you can continue to be that know it all internet warrior you're striving to be... You can rest assured, you had the most helpful response ever.

And you can rest assured you’ve had the most whiny. You sound like a petulant child when you basically say the man is a con artist. If I were Adam I’d refund your tune money and tell you to pound sand…you’re the type of customer businesses fire…and rightfully so.

Just to recap. On 8/16 you said:
Thanks for the response. Family comes first, and if that is what is holding him up, I'm fine waiting as long as it takes.
On 8/18 (a Friday) you said:
ZFG got me the base tune the evening I posted this. Totally worth the wait, and it’s just the base tune.
Then yesterday on 8/28 (barely 6 business days later) you said:
It is kinda shady to take $700 and not even respond to general questions.

So yea…you’re being impatient and acting like a baby in the process.

And just for the hell of it…yesterday (8/28) you said: It's been 2 weeks today since I sent him the data logs for the tunes now.

If you got your tune on 8/18 it is NOT 2 weeks to 8/28. It’s, again, 6 business days to when you started crying yesterday (8/28)
It’s not even 2 weeks if you don’t count the weekend…it’s a grand total of 10 calendar days. You were never, ever promised 7 days a week, 24 hour a day service. ZFG is a business…with business hours like everyone else. So long story short..,calm down and relax. You’ll get your shit.

Expecting communication and response is hardly saying he is a con artist. It is shady to take someone's money and not communicate at all after the fact. I was happy with the base tune, but someone also mentioned you shouldn't drive on the base tune. I sent a message asking about this, no response. I sent a message asking if he received my logs, no response. This is going on for 3 weeks without any communication from him other than the base tune email. Still no personal response answering any questions.

That is unprofessional. I could care less how much you love Adam and want to be with him and have his babies. Not responding to a customer is unprofessional. I went to him because I know his tunes are good. If he is spending time with Family, great. He can still respond to messages when he "is working". I got most things answered and resolved in a facebook group from people who know adam and actually wanted to help. Unlike you who just belittle, bash, insult and respond with condescension.

Again, good for you. Keep on being you. I'm sure your ex wife loves it...

My wife actually loves that I call out people that need calling out…we click that way.
Oh and…it’s perfectly fine to drive on the base tune. All you had to do was ask.

Great, glad she loves that. I'm sure she won't when its directed at her. hopefully you don't ever do that.

There was some confusion in the responses about driving on the base tune, which is why I asked Adam directly. Either way, I have other things going on with the car and I'm working with another company for autonomous driving that goes off the firmware version on the ECM, which changes every time its flashed. So, we were waiting for the tune to be finalized. Putting something on hold for 3weeks with no ETA when another company is waiting isn't ideal. I flashed the base tune from Adam and it locked out the other company. They had to create a custom update to work with the base tune firmware. I didn't want to do that every update from Adam so we were waiting.

Its not just me being impatient, there are other things/people waiting on this as well and its put it on hold. Either way, I was hoping for some kind of response and it didn't come so I posted here. Sorry I posted, I assumed thats what we did on here.

I told him as such. Guess he didn't like my answer.
Anyone can say anything they want. If someone was told not to drive on the base tune, and another person is saying its fine, that is conflicting information which is why I reached out to the tuner directly for clarification.

I don't know you or your abilities. Why should I trust your answer over someone elses who says something opposite?

I am kind of in a similar boat @Gputha. Sent in my base file on the 22nd of Aug, asked if they received my TDN request and base file, no response. Still no base tune or response on the 29th of August. The ZFG website says 2-5 days for a response, I've texted and emailed, nothing. If the timeframe is not what the website says (2-5 days) when can we expect a response or when can I expect a base tune? I'm totally fine if it takes a while, but just set appropriate expectations up front. Seems like some people in here seem to have connections(or at least pretend to), so I look forward to your responses. Just want to emphasize that this is not really a big issue, but I just want to know what to expect since the website/TDN is apparently wrong on the timeframe.

Did you also fill out the DMS request (or TDN request if its not the DMS Tune) form when you synced the files to the TDN? If not, do that. The instructions aren't super clear. I've learned that absolutely nothing happens (because no one responds to emails) unless a form is also submitted.

Yeah I did fill out the TDN Request form and received an automated email saying it was submitted. Downloaded ZFGs instructions here: https://www.tunedbyzfgracing.com/_files/ugd/d61019_5f6406e532444160a70673a1dd62bfd5.pdf and followed them. They also state 2-5 days for a response.

If you submitted it correctly on the 22nd then today would be 5 business days. Correctly seems to be the issue 90% of the time. I can tell you this for a fact…contacting multiple ways will absolutely not get you a faster response…in fact it’ll likely be slower because now he has to read through multiple messages from the same person and try to filter it down to what’s important. You’re not helping anything by doing that.

Lol, if you don't receive a response, continuing to try and contact them is not the right thing to do. You should just let it go, regardless of the money spent.. Gotcha, that makes a lot of sense.

Tell us you never worked in the customer service/sales industry without telling us...

No, genius….I very clearly meant to use ONE form of communication. Do you think sending a text, email, Facebook DM and forum DM all with the same questions is gonna move you to the front of the reply line? No…it probably shuffles you back a few spots.
And I work with clients on a daily basis who understand when they email me they may not hear back for a minute. What they don’t do is email, text, etc the same shit multiple times because we work in an industry full of realistic adults, not petulant children that make up lies to sell their sob story (you) and accuse people of being shady (you) because their little temper tantrum didn’t get them bounced to the front of the line ( also….you)

Lol, you're funny. glad I'm not your client, especially if you expect people to wait 3+ weeks after spending money and not complain. You must be a real winner in person.

If you send a response and don't hear for several days, I would think its not unrealistic to want to try another form of communication.

you calling people babies and being a condescending Dbag sure isn't helping anything. Its clear you really don't know anything about customer service. "realistic adults". Let me guess, these "adults" are fine if they are told 2-5 days, and 3 weeks go by. No sweat, because they are "realistic adults". Not sure you know what realistic means...
