Driver side mirror retracting but not returning to operating position

A couple of weeks ago the driver's side mirror on my 2021 ST was getting stuck in the retracted position intermittently. I would start the car and have to manually push the mirror into place to use it. It usually moved easily but sometimes there was resistance when I manually pushed it. This was happening about 50% of the time.

Now the mirror retracts about 50% of the time when I park the car and doesn't ever return to the operating position when I get back to the vehicle. It moves easily by hand without any resistance now too when pushing it into the operating position.

I'm hoping this is an easy fix and wanted to ask if anyone has encountered this issue. If so, let me know the solution you found. Alternatively, if anyone has a drawing or manual of the mirror assembly, please add it to the thread. Thanks in advance.

You can also disable auto retract while you search for a solution.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately that did not fix it. The motor inside the mirror is making noise so I will probably disassemble it this weekend and take a look inside
