2021 Ford Explorer ST

I got on the gas today and then all of the sudden it made a weird noise and the car slowed down. The noise sounded like a pice of metal banging around , and then there was a pop up saying something about to service the shifting. The car seems fine driving but any idea what it could’ve been ?
