Ford Explorer ST Recall 23S23 360 Degree Camera Stop Sale

I tried to work with my dealer to grab an ST with the 360 camera delete from a different nearby dealership... earlier he had said they sometimes can swap with other dealerships so I wanted him to pursue it. I knew it was a complicated ask, but I wanted to honor our arrangement and try to find a way to give them the sale. His reply was "Feel free to deal on the one at the other dealership, but we have no say in it. It's their unit and they're not going to trade it to us. It doesn't work that way. Do what's best for you."

So I did. I went and bought it. I didn't love his tone and frankly, he hasn't been helpful in any way over this 6 month waiting period. The other dealership was more than happy to poach my business and gave me a very good trade in allowance. For those interested, the 360 delete means no front camera, and no camera button on the dash. So rear view camera only. Interestingly, the front camera and side mirror cameras ARE installed. The GM said he didn't believe Ford ever intended to come around later and offer to install the 360 camera system on these models, which I already assumed given the $650 credit, though it does seem perfectly possible from a technical/mechanical standpoint for a Ford Tech to hook it all up later.

Glad it's all over. This whole experience has taken a lot of the joy out of buying this car, but I am still super excited

I was able to get confirmation from the dealer and Ford customer service that the car was actually built. August 16th the car was sent back to the factory from the Speedway storage. Latest update I was given was a 9/18-9/24 ETA. This really had been such a disaster.

Same here. Suppose to be in 8-31-23 to 9-6-23.....then moved to 9-3-23 to 9-9-23 now when dealer looks it up it says TBA. ST was built 7-20-23. Tired of the waiting game. Meanwhile my 2020 ST is in the shop again with transmission faults. Second time in 3 weeks.
First time replaced half-shaft and other things. This time they say it's the control module......so they say. They installed one Friday and said new part was defective and couldn't program it. We'll see what this week brings. Not looking good for my ordered ST at this point.....or my old one tbh.

Purchased one Friday that came in last week with the 360 recall fixed. Some dealers are receiving fixed units now but won’t receive the kits to fix them until mid-late October according to my dealer. Hopefully that means some orders will be getting updated or delivered soon.

Update on my March order. Built end of April. Sat in Chicago until late August. Moved to Detroit early September. Sitting there. Was supposed to be delivered today. Now told...10 more days. Is the ST camera different? Something like that is going on.

I went to the dashboard to check for updates today. Still stuck in production since 7-19. I had a window sticker there for months. Now I get this message saying no window sticker created for this vehicle yet.

Omg. I hope ours weren’t the Explorers stolen and damaged awhile back. Seems like we would have heard before now though. Or, maybe it’s a good sign?

Same message on mine. Window sticker always showed up on mine until today. Last update on Ford site shows in production 7/20/23.
