I may have learned why the "driving assist" (in cruise control) sometimes over accelerates when it's creeping up on a vehicle ahead of you. Please note, the vehicle ahead is slowing down to a stop. It feels as though the "driving assist" is going to bump the car in front of us in the last few feet before stopping.
My theory is: if you have your vehicle is SPORT mode and you are using "driving assist", the higher torque can get you closer than you want to be to the vehicle in front of you. I've made it a rule to never combine the two features when driving off highway.

If you press the traction control button, It cycles Traction Control on and off so you can let the tires get rowdy. However, if you hold it for about 5 seconds, a slide bar will pop on your instrument cluster that will say “Hold to disable AdvanceTrac.” Once finished, this will disable Traction Control AND Electronic Stability Control.
It doesn’t feel much different to me, but I’m not Ken Block.

traction control will control wheel spin, like on a wet road from a red light turning green, or slight wheel spin on a turn
advance trac will take over brakes and throttle to keep the vehicle in control during, what the computer thinks might be a loss of control. My 2011 F150 has had the advance trac take over during hard turns ive submitted it to.
turn them both off on your ST and go rip around some S turns ( preferably a LARGE empty parking lot) and youll see what i mean.

I discovered one by accident today. When the vehicle is off, if you pull the turn signal stalk toward you, there is a loud beep and the headlights and display screens all come on. They stay on until you pull the stalk again to turn them off! Interesting and I guess for when you need a lot of light! It sort of overrides the auto-headlamp delay after turning the engine off.

Has anyone noticed there is a lock "button" on the outside door handle? All of the handles have it, and it's on the "left" side of the handle as you're looking at it, and there is a symbol, that looks a bit like a lock, although I don't think it does.
Also, has anyone noticed there is a spray head just under the front and rear facing cameras, so when you wash the windshield, it also sprays on the cameras... I thought that was pretty cool.

You don't actually have to release your parking brake. You can just go (in drive or reverse) and it will automatically release it for you. I forgot the term but in manual but it's like auto protect thingy.
I still manually do mines though as a habit but good to know you have a safety net if you forget!

This one is not a “New” thing exclusive to the Explorer, if you hold the “OK” button down on the steering wheel and while holding it down start the vehicle the dash display goes into a service mode... sorry I can’t think of the actual mode name but it’s kinda cool, test the chimes, dash lights and allows you to see some information. Also my my Father drove my ride yesterday and told me he was not impressed with the cooling seat, I asked why not? His reply was.... “I thought that if the cooling seat was turned onto High that it would absorb the odor of a fart”.... My father is an odd one
