2025 Explorer Teaser Ahead of Tomorrow's Reveal

Doesn't Blue Cruise auto shut off when your hands come off the wheel?

That guy who does the review, "Raities" does good reviews but I hate it when they bow to the pressure of the OEM by suckholing.

I watched his review of the 2025 Tahoe/Suburban, in it he specifically points out how he loves the fact that Chevrolet went paint all the way down the fender and didn't cheap out with a ugly plastic trim. But here he says he loves the black plastic trim.

In all the years owning an Explorer and being on these forums I have never heard anyone say they wanted to paint the roof black, seems odd Ford thinks its a customer want and charges $5000 for it.

Interior is nicer then current model but 13" screen is small by today's standard.

Too many deleted options with supply chain issues no other OEM seems to have.

The showstopper for me is the wheel design and colour. Ford chooses to market the ST as a "Blacked Out" trim but throws in grey wheels as only option?....WTF .......that colour is nowhere else on the vehicle. Plus the little things like the Mustang with black wheels gets black OE lugnuts but here the ST gets chrome?.....I thought this was "Blackout"

Every other Ford model with "Blackout" gets black Ford ovals......my kids Escape with BlackPak has black Ford badging, but the $60,000 Explorer gets Blue Ovals?

The biggest issue Ford faces with any Explorer is the Quality Control or lack there of. Chicago Assembly has huge issues and no matter what they change there will still be issues.

Too bad really but this reveal has been my ultimate deciding factor for a 2025 Tahoe RST in the summer.

Just to point it out…have the roof wrapped or painted black is a hugely popular thing to do. The FB groups are literally full of them.

With all of us talking about "deal breakers", I'm forced to recall that there's nothing else on the market that even remotely touches the ST for performance/price.

Add in the FP tune which turns the ST into a low 13 sec SUV that still has a warranty and doesn't break the bank, and now the field of viable competitors disappears.

So if it came time to trade in our ST, where else would we go? Nowhere, that's where.

Still deciding between ST or Platinum. I really wish the ST had Black wheels instead of Magnetite. WTF was Ford thinking? Adaptive Headlamps are a nice touch on the Plat, but that Grill, meh. Really love the Paddle shifters that are on my wife's 17 Explorer Sport so leaning more towards 25 ST. Plus tighter handling and a tad more torque with 3.58 Axle. Would anyone have an idea why they are deleting the keyless entry keypad? We use this almost every time we use the ST. I hate carrying key fobs or looking for them.

The refreshed 2025 Tahoe looks incredible. Much like the Explorer, it really needed an interior refresh IMO. They knocked it out of the park. But my goodness, GM staying true to their roots and offering their entire line-up with the ugliest wheel designs of any manufacturer.



If the wheels are the only real dealbreaker, you could always have the wheels powdercoated. I agree that I'd have preferred if they stuck with black wheels. The design of the wheels themselves are actually pretty appealing.

I just spec'd one out earlier. The price overall was lower (if you don't get the black painted roof which is a $4,895 option). The estimated net price is $59,165. This price is with the normal packages that are on the dealership requests.
