I personally would not. Be patient and you’ll find someone selling a trusted brand intercooler for close to that price. I got my CVF new for $540 shipped. Just gotta search around

I'm 100% with V3nom on this. Saving a little just isn't worth it on something like this. If you're going to drop money on an intercooler...tune...things that are directly touching your engine I would want to know exactly what I'm getting.

Nothing wrong with saving a buck, someone will be parting out and you' can take advantage of a deal.

Thanks for the replies! I'd love to shop around for a deal on a noted brand and I have so far but the bumper is coming off next Monday so I'm trying to get one in hand before then. That's a great deal you got V3nom3nom and that's the brand I was originally looking for. Worst case, I guess I'll just have to pay a lot more to get it.

I believe this was the popular ebay FMIC back in my 2.0 Fusion days. Though I'd be a bit nervous buying this when the majority of their pictures have the unit upside down :p
Right?

Please....DONT DO IT!

CV Fab has some great deals, or just wait it out and you may find someone on here selling a quality IC at discounted prices.

Already ordered the CVF. Couldn't wait for a deal. The bumper's coming off next week and I had to have the IC in hand before then.
I looked high and low and everyone is at 879.99 right now.

Was a good call. Didn't realize you were on a time crunch. That bumper removal wouldn't have mattered when you were doing it again with an inferior FMIC. You'll be very happy with the investment and don't have to worry about doing the work more than once!

Good luck with your purchase, you will be well-versed in removing the front bumper when you have to take it off a second time.

Thanks!
The next time will be my first. An auto body shop is doing it this time. :)

Actually paying good money to get it done for me this time. I'm having an auto body shop fix a scratch on the fender. To do so, they have to remove the bumper. Just thought I'd Take advantage of this time to install the IC upgrade.

There you go, hopefully they aren't charging you too much extra to swap out the IC. All the hard work is being done to paint the bumper.

So, for those who have installed the CVF IC, what exactly did you have to modify to make this work? Mechanic is saying that they have to mod the hose work and remove the radiator to install it. The CVF website says it's supposed to be a drop-in with no mods needed.

Nothing should have to be modified at all. Maybe a bracket tweaked, but that's it. The radiator doesn't even come out. Old IC comes out and then new ones goes in right in front of stock radiator...shouldn't be anything new to bodyshop (replacing parts).

Do yourself a favor, and stay away from that place

I didn't want to be that blunt...could come down to a less knowledable installer unsure of what they're doing. Simple clip on youtube can show them they're trying too hard to do the install. With bumper removed for the repair its not even another hour to swap it out if your OCD like I was.

Unfortunately, they already have it apart for repairing a scratch.
