Just got the letter today that said to call my Ford dealer in order to make an appointment to get the rear camera on my 2023 Explorer ST replaced as they now have the parts available to do the job. Unfortunately the dealer had zero knowledge of this. They said I have to bring the vehicle in to have it inspected and then they will order the parts. I guess Ford doesn’t know what rear camera they put in the 2023 ST’s. Ford communication to dealers is lacking. I have had nothing but issue after issue with the vehicle and I even filed a lemon law claim but surprisingly it was deny. Nice looking vehicle but it mostly gets admired in the service department my dealers parking area. I can understand why Ford is struggling as a company. I’ve purchased my last Ford and can’t wait to replace it.

Another case of “Ford is bad because I have a bad dealer.”

A significant part of why Ford is “struggling” is thanks to the Biden/Harris administration’s imposition of EVs on a public that isn’t interested. ;)

I had this recall completed 2 weeks ago and it works great now! No more blue screen and rear brake assist errors.

I have a 22 and also got the same letter. I only have 9500 miles on it and have never seen a blue screen once so not sure I even want to let them touch it.

It took mine a year about 10,000 miles for the blue screen to first appear. Then after the first recall, the camera replacement fixed it until it reappeared about a year later.

Same here on my 22. Never had an issue with my rear camera or anything else for that matter. Not planning on letting them touch it for now.

I was getting the blue screen every now and then. Did the latest IPMB module update and have not seen the blue screen in a couple of weeks now. Don't plan on getting the camera and wiring replaced if I don't see the blue screen. If it ain't broke, don't fix it... because chances are good they will break something else in the process.

I also have a 22, camera malfuncation didnt start happening until around 13k miles but was rampant after that. Had the recall done recently they replaced the entire camera, no issues since but well see how long that lasts

The dealer I used sent a mobile tech to my house and he did the repair in my driveway. No inspection. I just called and made an appointment. It took about an hour. Try another dealer.

Very few dealers signed up for Fords Mobile Service. Plus, they usually only have like a 10 mile radius from the dealer.

The dealer is about 25 miles away. I was surprised they would come that far.

So this is about the camera? Blues screen? Does the radio still function if this happens? Can I still use the buttons to change the radio stations? Honestly I could care less if I don’t have a backup camera? I got the letter as well but mine still works?

Backup camera law went into effect in early 2018. So when there's an issue with it, recalls have to be done. Up to you if you wanna do it or not.

The little portion that shows the camera is blue. All the other parts are fine. As long as you wouldn’t mind it being blue, or it isn’t blue than you don’t have to worry about it.

It is - inevitable.
I saw reports of the seal being bad on the hatch and letting water run down the cable to the board,... without a drip loop.
I was a little skeptical, but sure as shit, when it rains, I can get a blue screen.
It was simply a poor cable design decision, and crappy seal design.

My notice mentions a harness, I'm assuming they clip an extra length in the middle to allow for drip? Who knows, but, I would definitely have it done (And I need to schedule mine).
