Looking to buy a ST but concerned the 2025’s won’t be able to get the same performance as the earlier models due to the ECU being potentially completely locked down. Do we have any more info on this? Will this likely not be something that will be ZFG tunable in the future?

Guaranteed ZFG will get past it, when it will happen I wouldn’t know.

I imagine Ford is bound by some deal Google has... I'm more than a little concerned if this is the case.

I heard some rumors about them being network locked potentially which is kind of sketchy.

I agree they do look better, but the interior is pretty nice. I don’t see it worthwhile to upgrade from the previous years, especially if they are cheaper than the new ones.

Is the infotainment and the blue screen stuff as bad as people make it out on the previous years? That is what is making me hesitate on those as well. I would be pissed if I could not play music or whatever else because the infotainment is completely dead.

I am sure the 2025’s are also single bolt rears and they didn’t go back to two.

No it is not really reliability wise most people hate it, it is the way it is set up for reverse camera and CarPlay.

The infotaiment screen is completely different now. Now Google based vs the old Sync3.

The 2025’s having an android based system (I believe) versus the earlier models and their sync 3 is one of the big things since I always read horror stories about the sync systems. It has been a huge reason I never bought. But again idk if that is really blown out of proportion.

The software is google based. The Sync is not that bad, it could be better, but it is not as bad as people make it seem.

Agreed. I don’t think it is that bad.

I think the infotainment system and the dash are going to be a significant upgrades. My thought process is that since I usually keep vehicles for a long time (8+ years), waiting for a refresh allows me to have tech that will be one generation newer which is usually good for 3-4 years. That's a significant period of time.
