2020 Explorer ST with 66,000km. It started to make what I would described as a whistle sound when pressing on the gas pedal at about 60km/h and above. The pedal doesn’t need to be pressed hard.

I’ll stop by the dealer tomorrow.

Anyone has any ideas what it could be?

My guess is a vacuum leak.

Reports whistle type noise when pressing accelerator light throttle over 60kms/hr, will stop when letting off, test drive and report

• Tech Cause: Road test for concern> Noise from rear axle assy.
• Visual inspection> severe fluid leak from rear housing. suspect cracked housing
• Removed drain & fill plugs & found excessive metallic debris, indicating internal component failure.
• Requires replacement of rear axle assy.
• Tech Comments: Rear axle assy. & hardware ordered.
• Replaced rear axle assy.
• Road test after repair> O.K. - Warranty

This may be happening to me at 52,000 miles! My rear axle/suspension feels bouncy and feel resistance and shaking from the back.
