Had my Thermals 3” installed recently. Been working hell of a lot so mostly my wife been driving the car and I haven’t gotten to mess with it. She says there’s a rattle on a cold start, not long, then goes away. I’m going to tackle it when I get time off. I would like to get a head start and wondered if people had the same issues with rattling on cold start or just when you start the car. Where are some places I should look? P.S. had a bad experience with the shop cause they did a terrible job. They installed Downpipes and took them 8 hours to do. Even left a O2 looses and wiggling which triggered a CEL. Had to tighten it down myself and clear CEL. Fingers crossed that was the problem lol

I narrowed it down to the hanger brackets at the rear bumper. If I put pressure on the exhaust upward slightly it will stop. What can I do to the brackets to help reduce the noise?

I read somewhere...... reversing the hanger brackets Left to Right on installation will prevent a rattle

I tried it today. It won’t work cause they won’t line up with the holes. Was worth a shot though.

That’s exactly how they were set up. Pushed all the way up making the noise. I just need to figure how to adjust them. Good video thanks

Do you or anyone know what would be the best way to adjust those hangers without taking the whole exhaust off?

Gotta crack the locator tabs off the hangars to reverse them. Chisel and a well placed hammer blow should do the trick.

Yeah that’ll have to be the way to do it. What do I do about re-applying them when I get them out? Glue or are you able to hammer it back in? lol

Once the tab is off you just bolt the hangar back on.

Ok I think I was getting confused on what the “locator tab” is. It’s the top piece that just sits up top? Above the bolt? Sorry, it’s been a long week due to the hurricane, 7 days no power. My brain is fizzled lol

Not sure if you already fixed this but you should be able to just unbolt the mufflers to hang down a bit and undo the hanger bolt and adjust the way it sits on there so its not touching the green part, we just installed our thermal and came across the same issue, its do able without breaking the tabs off.
