  • I got one more question for you. With these RTR wheels being Hub-centric design you don't need hub-centric rings right?

Nope, no need for one. I had a brain fart and didn't check this until after I put them on and they fit. The hub size is the same as the S550 Mustangs, 70.5mm.
Hey, @MikeyP Love the look of the RTR wheels. I have RTR wheels on my F150 and love the look. I'm planning to replace the stock 20s on the Explorer with some RTR wheels, not tech 5s but an RTR wheel. My question is, what lug nut did you go with?

My lug nuts are ChasingJs titanium lugs. Super light, saved 1.5lbs per corner. Not cheap, $350 per set. They come in raw titanium like I have now, burnished blue/purple color I used to have, a black carbon color. I like that they're a cool detail real car guys notice, they're a local Orange County CA company, and they have a larger seat then most aftermarket lugs for better contact. IMO, worth it.

@JFivepoint0 The Aero 7s are SICK! I was going to get these for my Mustang before I sold it. I'm only about the body positivity movement when it comes to tires. I love me some FAT sidewalls, and the Aero 7s will just take that look to the next level. Another reason to go with 285/50s, this is the tallest tire I've seen fitted to these Explorers. Please send me some pics when installed.
I got my 2022 from the Rancho dealer. Thinknig about the Thermal R&D 2.5" (maybe the 3") Cat-back Exhaust but worried about too much notice in cab. What are your thoughts?

Nice, that's my local dealer. I think the Thermal 2.5 is just fine. Loud outside on cold start only, but not loud at all inside. No drone at all. Especially if you stick with stock cats. Personally I'd go 3 as I think it sounds a bit better, but if you want to save a few hundred the 2.5 is great.
Hi Mikey, can you please share more pictures of your explorer?? i would like to see your setup from different angles, ive already bought a set of 20x10.5" wheels and need to decide what tires to use on them, my other option is 295/45 but i dont want to be smaller on diameter. THANKS!
