    Interior creaks and rattles

I got a chance yesterday to follow your steps on both doors, the only difference is I used some neoprene washers (see pictures) that I picked up at my local Ace Hardware. I have driven around in the heat the last couple of days and haven't heard any noises! So far, so good. It must have been...

    Interior creaks and rattles

Thanks for the detailed explanation and pictures. This is on my weekend plans for sure! I will report back in after I have given it some time. It won’t take long, both sides are creaking and clicking away daily.

Same here, I tested with the shades up today and I still heard the noise.

Oh yeah, that would always be hot. Thanks. It is just getting into the 70s and 80s here now, and that is when I really notice it. Below 70 doesn’t seem to be a problem.

    Interior creaks and rattles

Since I have taken the doors apart, many times, I think I know what you are talking about, but some pictures would be awesome! Just to confirm, do you notice the noises more when the sun is out or it’s hotter out? That’s when it is really noticeable for me, like something must expand in the heat...

    Interior creaks and rattles

Just curious if anyone ever figured anything different out with this clicking/creaking noise from the middle row? The temperatures are finally heating up here, so now I am hearing the noises much more often. To me it still seems like its in the rear door/window/trim/sun shade area somewhere.

    Map Update

That sounds good. Thanks for the info. I checked my versions and it already says NA220 for my maps version, so I think I am already on the latest version.

    Map Update

I received an alert in FordPass today that I might be eligible for a map update. When I enter my VIN into the website, it says I am eligible for a complimentary SYNC3 Navigation Map update. It then describes it as a “ONE time only Map Update.” Does that mean I only ever get one complimentary...

    Interior creaks and rattles

I wasn't able to duplicate this. It still seems like it's in the panel somewhere or between the panel and the outer door. The good news is it's getting colder here now, so I hear it much less often.

    Interior creaks and rattles

I will have to give this a try to see if I can duplicate it. Thanks!

    Interior creaks and rattles

I am glad to hear it isn't just me. This is about the only noise I have right now as well, other then I do get some noise out of my brake pedal when I first start to press down on it. I will report back in if I ever figure the clicking noise out.

    Interior creaks and rattles

Just an update, this process seems to have worked well to take care of the noises I had when pushing on the rear door panels from the inside. However, the original problem I was investigating was a “clicking/creaking” noise from both rear doors. I have sat back there, but I can’t figure out...

    Interior creaks and rattles

The link is below. I agree, the dealership is usually not the best at solving these types of issues.

    Interior creaks and rattles

I followed a video I found on YouTube this past weekend to take my rear door panels apart. I was surprised, the "adhesive" noise wasn't in the panel itself at all. What I found is there's a plastic/rubber piece circled in yellow in my pictures that was making the noise when it rubbed on the...

Good deal, please let us know if they are actually able to fix it.

That could very well be, where the rolled up sunshade is stored is exactly where the noise comes from.

    Interior creaks and rattles

Thanks. I agree, it sounds like adhesive letting loose in there, especially when I push on the inside of the door right below the window. Seems like a poor design to me if adhesive was used instead of screws.

    Interior creaks and rattles

Thanks for the info, that gives me hope the noises will go away, but I am not sure how much longer I can listen to what sounds like a clicking noise in a brand new vehicle. I would take it back to the dealer to get it looked at, but that is 3 hours away. I am thinking about taking one of the...

    Interior creaks and rattles

Me either, but I don't think it is a loose cable for me. I hear the noise even when the vehicle isn't moving in both rear doors. The front doors are just fine.

    Interior creaks and rattles

Did you ever figure out what this was? I just got my new Explorer ST and I have the exact same thing in both rear doors. It sounds like adhesive that pulls apart. It seems worse when it is really hot out and is really annoying.
