What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

OK, second foray under the car. This wasn't hard but I don't have an impact wrench and I did it with the car on the ground. Doable but you have to contort yourself a bit to get leverage on those big bolts. An impact wrench would make this infinitely easier. Didn't get to drive it yet because...

Subframe bushing braces and billet vertical links.

    JXB bushing insert

Yeah. This is a fun street/daily car. It's not getting seriously launched against a clock, probably ever. Mostly just inducing smiles and keeping the butt dyno entertained. My thinking is that if I can put a bandaid on Ford's shortcoming for a bit, that should mitigate something catastrophic...

    JXB bushing insert

What wound up being the verdict on these JXB inserts? I've got a single bolt setup. From looking at the JXB video comparing various setups, it looks like the bushing insert alone does a very good job of eliminating movement. I think my plan for now would be to install the JXB insert along...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Installed a Diode Dynamics Brakehitch light and K&N air filter. Probably going to move to some suspension parts next. Looking at the subframe lockout kit and sway bar. Is there a material difference between the Steeda and FenFAB subframe kits? Steeda looks part dependent based on which...

    Any Cajun ST owners?

I know it's old, but Google found me this thread so I figured I'd bump it. I'm new to the Baton Rouge area and also new to owning an ST. Anyone in particular y'all would go to for installs or work? I like cars and am somewhat mechanically inclined, but lack the tools, space, and time to do much...

Interesting. Did not know that was a thing. She's going to have to get used to regular air like the rest of us, LOL.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Have had my ST for almost 2 weeks now. Baby steps: - TuxMat floor liners - 3D Kagu cargo liner - J&L Catch can - Some black valve stem caps (showed up with green plastic and one was missing...¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) - The aluminum ST pedal covers Still researching parts, but have a list of ideas going...

    Lowering Springs Pros and Cons

I've been reading a ton of threads lately about various enhancements and I've seen more than once mention of Steeda products rusting - primarily springs and the sway bar. Does anyone know if Steeda has done anything to rectify this issue? I've seen mentioned that they have a good record of...

    Ford Performance Tune

New guy here. Read the entire thread the last few days. WHEW, lot of pissing matches interspersed with good feedback. I have some experience with bolt on mods but ECU changes and internal mods have always made me nervous. It seems a tune is the easy button to more power with these ST's though...

    Best Oil Catch Can

That makes sense. Thank you. So, I guess my last question here is - why aren't manufacturers doing this? Seems like a rather easy thing to take off the aftermarket's hands.

    Best Oil Catch Can

I guess I have this question too: why are we porting air from the crankcase back to the intake? Why not just vent it out of the system altogether? The only other performance engine I've had was a 370z and I don't remember catch cans being a part of the conversation. I never dabbled in forced...

    Best Oil Catch Can

Hey everyone, I'm new here. Just took delivery of my ST last week. It's a '23 with ~10k miles on it. There is currently no catch can installed. I've got the itch to do SOMETHING to the car (y'all know how it is) and it seems like this is a pretty inexpensive, straightforward, and simple (looking...

    New owner

I've been driving cars that can best be described as "paid off and running" for the last 10-12 years. Yesterday I took delivery of this beauty and it's the first car I've actually wanted to drive in a long time. Super excited about all of this.
