BIG brakes for our Explorers, this time affordable

If you think you have a little air trapped in there just get it up to speed…I prefer triple digits…then absolutely slam on the brakes. Drive it into the ABS pump kicking in…it’ll cycle the air out of the pump. As long as you don’t let the master cylinder go dry though it won’t be a problem.

Whose The King of The North East?

I run the High Performance ST group…I see this shit every day. lol

    Stripped Engine Mount

Lowering the subframe is a normal part of downpipe installs and trans swaps so yea…it’s highly likely the shop screwed it up but no, it wasn’t to make you come back for more service. Typical shop crap when they run fasteners in with an impact to save time…occasionally something gets stripped out.

PSA for those with Aftermarket Exhaust

I ran a performance shop and have had my hands on literally thousands of aftermarket mufflers and cat-back systems. Never once seen one with a weep hole in it…and certainly not on the “wrong side” from a manufacturer. I’m sure there’s an outlier out there somewhere…but it’s rare enough to say...

PSA for those with Aftermarket Exhaust

Covered in post #7. It’s not rocket science…small hole in the lowest point is all you need.

    Old and Tired ST's

Not sure where you get those stats but I can assure you there’s countless forced induction vehicles well north of 100K and still going strong. In Europe that’s considered a new car still. There’s plenty of ST’s over 100k also and mine isn’t far behind at 94K and it’s been heavily modded its...

    Cold Air Intake

Not entirely true but if that’s your thoughts enjoy the drop in.

Dings, clicks and other small issues.

That’s not an issue…that’s the car doing the things it does normally.

    Third row seat removal?

The PIU brace isn’t just a straight drop in for our cars though. Some modifications are needed around the 2nd row seats for all the carpet and trim panels to fit.

WTB Looking for OEM front Ford oval

If you ever thought about swapping to black emblems there’s also an oem black set of ovals…I think they’re from a Timberline.

    Never noticed this before??

Nothing under the hood is cleared on any of them.

    Third row seat removal?

The seat frame is also a chassis crossmember and integral part of the crash protection designed into the car.

    Ebay IC

Looks like typical knock off quality…just good enough to sell and may or may not work well. I can tell you the fin density (FPI) looks to be about half of my Whipple. The fewer fins….the worse cooling.

    Installation Question

If you’re doing both have the performance shop do all of it. The downpipes will have to come off for the chargers anyway.

    Installation Question

Huh? Turbos are mounted down low off the bottom of the heads. The end of the intake tubes connect to them sure but so do the downpipes on the other side.
