    Leaking oil?

well, if they are replacing the oil pan, they probably don't recognize that you've got a FADA leak that is covering the oil pan with front differential oil.

    Leaking oil?

Unfortunately, with just an oil leak, it seems like dealers are just removing the front axle disconnect actuator and putting in a new o-ring. If I were you, Id push to have the intermediate shaft replacement for the FADA put in instead. Plenty of FADAs have failed and per TSB should be...

Rusty Half Shafts on 5 Day Old New 2024 ST

I can tell you 2020 ST axles did not come with "corrosion protection". And no, the part number will not be the same as MY2020. For one, the axles on MY2020 and early MY2021 were flawed and tearing open left and right at the bellows clamp. The replacements had a different bellows design and...

Weathertech Rain Guard - Side Deflectors are now available!

yup, with the window down, there's a lot of wind noise--so much so, I've been thinking of removing them and rethinking the trade off Plus, I don't think they look good on the car.

    Alignment Specs (Camber)

I would suggest jacking up the rear end on stands, taking the wheels off and comparing sides. Some parts like the upper control arm is curved and could have easily been bent on impact--and not obvious by looking at it. If you can assume the passenger side is normal, maybe you can compare...

    Mishap

If it were me, I'd just get a new trim piece and touch up pa-nt the scratch. My Explorer is no beauty queen though. I have plenty of small door dings from the kids and liftgate scratches from the garage door.

Customer Satisfaction Program 22N17 - Easy, and inexpensive, DIY.

Awesome post! I had assumed they were changing out the switch modules but looks like just the tips! NICE

2025 Explorer Teaser Ahead of Tomorrow's Reveal

Why did they decide on $800/yr?? That is way way too expensive for most. I bet 95% of owners won't take part in that kind of subscription. A pity since I was looking forward to it.

2020+ Explorer front differential fluid guide

Capacity is 0.6qts. Not sure why the manual specifies to remove the front bottom cover... only removing or pulling back the rectangular cover is needed. The fill bolt is pretty tight loosening for the first time--you may need a breaker bar. Also: for MY2020-2021, anytime you remove the...

360 Degree View Camera Alignment using FDRS

I complained about the misalignment 3 years ago (along with other issues) to the dealer. At the time, they said they aligned it but it made zero difference. Now I know it was just lip service. Hopefully they fix both issues for you!

360 Degree View Camera Alignment using FDRS

I have had this alignment issue for the past 3-4 years now, both in front and in back. After having updated my IPMB firmware to the latest (have not done the rear camera hardware replacement yet), I wanted to use what's left of my 2 day FDRS license to try to calibrate my 360 degree camera view...

    I need ForScan help.

As-Built Lines 726-42-01 and 726-43-01 in BCM. I don't have the other things you have which may affect the functionality. Here's i8iridium's original post: https://www.explorerst.org/threads/interceptor-amber-drls-on-explorer-st.1559/page-3#post-69157

    I need ForScan help.

Not sure why yours is temporary. The two line changes worked for me. Did you happen to change something else in BCM related to the headlights?

New guy with the same old awd issues

I did a few module updates today (BCM, BCMC, HVAC, IPMB). I think I encountered what @Paulie77 did logging on for the first time. It would not accept my email, password on the login screen. Tried a number of times and had to restart FDRS several times because it seemed to disconnect from the...

BEWARE: Driveshaft kaboom from emergency auto-brake

Well, you will want a more substantial brace than the $160 will get you. the 2/4 bolt subframes are not part of the recall and at least anecdotally, have not heard of these mounts/bolts failing. When I removed the two rear bolts on my 2/4 bolt last year, there was no sign of bent bolts like...

    4WD Fault Service Required

That's all well and good but if the TSB takes an hour of labor, that's a helluva lot better than close to $900!

    4WD Fault Service Required

The dealer is probably just being lazy. Looks like your vehicle falls in the TSB for grounding the harness to the AWD module. It's likely the AWD modules in the affected cars weren't properly case-grounded. It's still mind boggling how the AWD module isn't covered under powertrain for some.
