QUESTION: Who is using/has used a 3 bolt at the drag strip?

Well, there haven't been any posts since your Feb 9th comment so I guess there's a chance it might be higher with tuned vehicles. If I wasn't running the FP tune I probably would've skipped the AWR brace and remained stock.

    Stock 1/4 run tonight

You're a funny guy r74. I guess. Sort of. Lol Have you been back to the track? Were you using Prem fuel? What was the DA? Being in Florida I suspect you were experiencing lousy DA, as your 60 ft time matches my own stock time but my Dragy recorded a 13.72@99.8 mph. Your mph indicates you...

    Ford Performance Tune

I've read different things about transferring it to another person if you return your vehicle to stock, best bet is to call Ford Performance:

Ford Police Interceptor Protects Officers After Being Hit In Accident (everyone's okay)

First and foremost, I want to say the Milwaukee Police Department reported no serious injuries from this accident that occurred on 5/22/23. I posted this to show how well the PIU took a high speed hit from the side and protected it's passengers. Glad my brother/sister First Responders were...

Looks like someone I blocked is still having internet tantrums.o_O Lol Moving on to things of actual interest to us ... Edmunds just completed testing on two variants of the new 2024 Mustang! The 486 hp 5.0 GT 6 speed manual ran the exact same 4.8 sec 0-60 mph as my Explorer ST did with the...

    Ford Performance Tune

Ditto! (y):) My dealer only permits two of it's mechanics to even do that job. They registered the unit with FP, assigned me a temp password, ran the wires neatly behind the trim, mounted the tuner, and then did a test drive to make sure everything was good to go. One hour charge for labor.

    Ford Performance Tune

I've raised my hand! Great info from Ford Performance BTW.(y) Just be careful on the forum as there are a number of people who clearly demonstrate no working knowledge of anything autmotive (much less on the ST). Lol I haven't posted more on the FP tune because typical Summer heat/humidity...

Rattling noise coming from underneath new Explorer ST!

Here's two vids of a Ford mechanic dealing with the flex pipe rattling issue. In the first vid he's diagnosing the problem and ordering new parts, in the second vid he's making the repairs.

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

True. It seems most agencies don't order the 3.0L Interceptors. Unless it was replaced with a 4 bolt, I don't see how they can say you don't need the software. The 3.0L is "available", but it seems few (if any) departments are ordering them. And seeing how there's 12,000 local police...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

I would point to the lack of hundreds of other people reporting large numbers of Explorers on dealer lots awaiting rear ends, as indicative of something less than a major issue. I would ask where is the outpoor of complaints by LEO's complaining of same. If I am going to believe such a thing, I...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

Depends on what one means by "major issues" vs. maybe "an ongoing problem." My definition of "major issues" would mean every dealer in the nation having dozens of Explorers with broken bolts/bushings/bearings on their lot. Regardless of how we feel about the issue, that is just not the case. I...

REALLY how serious is this 1 bolt thing

Heh Alan. I can see this thread going on for, oh, around 100 pages. Lol My thoughts are this ... The issue was serious enough for Ford to issue their CYA electronic brake thingy "recall", but not serious enough to stop Ford Performance from selling a warranty backed tune that increased hp and...

    Ford Performance Tune

It should be noted the Dragy's reported temp was once again off. It was actually ~10 deg warmer so the actual DA was considerably higher than 1,100 ft. And an 1/8 ET of 8.39 converts to a 13.10 quarter, so a 13.0 in cooler weather is virtually guaranteed. Seeing I have no other mods but the...

    Ford Performance Tune

Dropped another tenth from previous best of 4.92, eighth was 8.39. Not enough road for a full 1/4, might have to go to the track for that. (FP Tune & AWR brace, nothing else)

    Ford Performance Tune

I got the tune from Lethal Performance when it was on sale. Regarding getting it installed in Cali, it appears you're out of luck for right now.

    Ford Performance Tune

I was pleasantly surprised with the FP tune. No complaints. I pointed out that the harshness of Sport Mode has nearly been eliminated. I rarely drive in Normal or any other mode, so I can't really comment about them.

    Ford Performance Tune

And CC, now that I'm into day 2 of the FP tune all I can say is I'm even more impressed with it now. This thing boogies with the tune! And the shifting in Performance Sport Mode has almost completely smoothed out.(y)

    Ford Performance Tune

The description for the FP EXPLORER CALIBRATION says that to retain the original FORD 3/36 warranty it needs to be installed by a FORD dealer or SAE/Red Seal certified tech from new vehicle in service. (see first pic/link) If I'm reading it correctly, if your vehicle was put into service on...

    Ford Performance Tune

I kid you not CC, the power difference with the FP tune is definitely noticeable. That is born out by the fact that my best stock 0-60 mph time before the tune was 5.34 sec on a cold day in February with negative DA. The FP tune run of 4.92 sec on a July day with +1,265 ft DA says a lot. That's...
