2025 Explorer Teaser Ahead of Tomorrow's Reveal

Has anyone been able to download a 2025 Ford Explorer order guide?

    2024 Explorer ST order

I haven't see the official specs or a 2025 order guide to determine whether the brake packages are now standard features of the ST... or whether those brake options have been dropped completely.

    2024 Explorer ST order

25 MY was just unveiled and the build configurator is up on Ford's website. I wouldn't even bother ordering a 2024.

    2024 Explorer ST order

There are not many good reasons to do so. From what I understand 2024 will be a short model year and the 2025s should be introduced soon.

    Official Curbing Thread

I think that's @DaveG ST 's point. If they are the same overall diameter, then the sidewall is too short/small.

Or just 18 or 20 inch wheels with 265 width tires - they are also less susceptible to wheel damage from curbing.

I've never heard of that tire brand: Ironman?

    Called Out On Tune

I find that having your OWN way of moving a disabled vehicle gives you a bit of leverage too. If the customer had a HD pickup with a tilt bed trailer + winch, it's harder to get the customer to agree to the delay when they could easily move to vehicle to another shop.

Interesting new find…and not a good one.

Does anyone have a picture of the factory part to compare against this?

    Official Curbing Thread

I'm not sure that is the case. They have significantly taller tire sidewalls from using 255/60/18 tires versus the typical 20" or 21" wheel/tire combos in the ST models.

    Official Curbing Thread

Strange how much damage resulted from this curb strike... because when you watch police pursuit videos, you see them hopping curbs at similar speeds and still being able to pursue the subject. I would imagine the control arms between ST and PIU models are similar. The difference has to be in...

    Blown Transmission

+1. https://www.oemfordpart.com/v-2021-ford-explorer--st--3-0l-v6-gas/automatic-transmission--automatic-transmission I was sort of surprised by the costs mentioned earlier in this thread. I would think at most $1k for labor to install this.

    18" Wheels possible.

Anyone know of good flow formed / rotary forged 18x8.5 wheels that would work?

    2024 Explorer ST order

Isn't the 2024 MY rumored to be a short run? I would imagine the 2025 model will be introduced in early 2024 with production starting by mid 2024?

    2024 Ford Explorer Order Guide

Possible. But I would still consider a refreshed option if it wasn't too ugly, but the interior improvements were significant. One thing I can't stand is the vertical screens in the Ram 1500, Ford Expedition (15.5 in screens), etc. They don't integrate well and at the end of the day, my...

Lowering Springs: Lethal, Eibach, Steeda, H&R PROS and CONS

Don't they have a similar problem with their sway bars rusting?

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

I was curious about when they finally moved to the 4 bolt subframe. I think we can assume all 2024 models and the 2025 model will incorporate this update subframe.

    PIU struts/shocks

What size tires/wheels do you have? I'm curious if someone ran a 20" wheel/tire or a 18" wheel/tire wouldn't feel as much harshness with the PIU as they would with either 21" or 22" wheels.

    2024 Ford Explorer Order Guide

It's unacceptable. Won't be purchasing an Explorer until they do a re-fresh.

    PIU struts/shocks

Does anyone know the 'correct' part numbers for matching PIU springs? There seem to be a lot of spring variations...
