Sync 4 Upgrade for 2020 Explorer

LOL. I hear you. I love this vehicle and hate everything that has to do with FCA, but my god is U-Connect great.

    Steering Wheel Carbon Trim Cover

I dig the red pinstripe. How did you do that?

aFe Intake -vs- Whipple Intercooler -vs- Downpipe

I didn't know this ahead of time. Had I known, I would have purchased the SPD units. I love this industry and racing and want to see it continue. I assumed that since they were catted that I was "modifying while still honoring the spirit of the law". I 100% support the EPA's mission and agree...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

It was not a pleasant experience. I was throwing wrenches and very frustrated with Brett over text, but he took it all in stride and stayed calm while i wasn't and we slowly worked our way through things. I did end up having to do some of my own fab work as the size/angle of his bracketry was a...

aFe Intake -vs- Whipple Intercooler -vs- Downpipe

I knew there was a difference but just didn't know the details. Thanks for that! I can CONFIRM, the FenFab requires defoulers.

ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

No drawbacks. That’s kind of the point of a fully custom tune instead of a canned tune. It just sharpens edges and smooths out wrinkles that came from the factory

aFe Intake -vs- Whipple Intercooler -vs- Downpipe

As I said above, you will be astounded at the difference downpipes make. You can’t go wrong with either FenFab or SPD. They use different cats but both use good high flow ones

SYNC Build 21194 Is Released by Ford

Same here. Updated OTA to 21194 and then another even bigger/longer update with something else involved. ran around all day today doing errands and everything seems great. perhaps even a little more responsive but it could just be me imagining things

2020 Burning Smell + Smoke Right Hand Side

No issues like that here (I also have a 2020 with about 12,000 miles on it), but I despise every dealer around me so much that when my master window switch panel stopped working, I bought one from a DIFFERENT Ford Dealer online and paid a shop i trust to install it rather than have my car there...

Focal, Mosconi, Illusion and Helix build

Did you consider Li-ion at all? Seems to be the new hotness for people looking for more power...

ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

Both! You will do at least three or four rounds of data logging depending on your mods and preferences and then if you have any specific feedback about transmission behavior just note those when you upload your logs.

ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

Theoretically yes, that is the idea as it helps with fuel economy, but it didn't always and it was always different when it came to deciding which gear it wanted to skip, lol. Agree! The transmission is actually a good one. The ratios are nice and the shifts can be precise. For some reason, GM's...

    Exhaust ......Need Opinions

Nah. Other way around. My ATAK with downpipes and x-pipe instead of mid-muffler is so friggin loud I had to install sound deadening in the hatch area in order to be able to have a conversation with someone while under acceleration. cruising speed she was quiet, but above 3k??? good lord she be loud.

aFe Intake -vs- Whipple Intercooler -vs- Downpipe

6 hours? Its the passenger side that will get ya. I followed @UNBROKEN 's lead and just cut off the heat shields on the stock downpipes to get more access. Then be prepared to use every single u-joint and socket extension you have in your toolbox until you find the magic combo that gets both...

    BG Oil Additive?

Koons Ford in Baltimore uses it too. Its not going to hurt anything and they shouldn't have charged you for it. There is no way I envision a tech adding it manually so it might be pre-added to their drums of synthetic.

    Removed features from 2022

huh. all three of those are things i wish i could have or have removed on my '20. good play. the 2nd row power folding feature is literally useless as my kids just go through the gap between the two captains chairs. and the console holds nothing in any sturdy manner whatsover. i tried to remove...

aFe Intake -vs- Whipple Intercooler -vs- Downpipe

I hear ya. The DPs are a huuuuuge PITA. The trick I found on here and used to great effect was to loosen the trans from the supports and drop the tail of the motor a bit to give yourself a little more room. This is not a job you are doing in your driveway. A lift is a MUST.
  18. Z

ZFG: I guess I'm a fanboy now too

Yes. ZFG's TCU tune fixes the "shifting up too soon 1->2", the "hesitating when 4->3", the "throttle blip when 4->5", and the "lurch when 2->1" issues along with just making the transmission feel overall more intuitive to what gear you feel like it should be in.

It's a Wrap- Show off your vinyl wrap

No worries. Poke around a bit. There is some REALLY creative vinyl work that has been done by a few users. I don't think so. The wrap you ordered looks like big rectangular chunks. The wrap I have is this stuff...

    Blackstone Oil Analysis Reports

Looks like shear is definitely the culprit rather than dilution.
