Late 2022 with four bolt subframe?

Look in the post of mine. All the info is in there.

    PIU struts/shocks

I’ve put over 1,000 miles (maybe closer to 2,000) on my rear combo of the PIU shocks and sway bar, including towing my boat a bunch. From a manual compression of both pairs, it definitely seemed as if the PIU units were much stiffer. After driving with them and feeling the firmer ride, it seems...

SLD Steeda rear sway bar - SE MI - needs re-coating or paint

The bushings look fine - no warping or decay. I cleaned them up a bit and they’re in need of grease, but they can be easily re-used. Brackets and bolts are, of course, on the rusty side.

SLD Steeda rear sway bar - SE MI - needs re-coating or paint

It does, but all the rest of my chassis and suspension looks fine. This is just poor quality by Steeda.

    Eibach finally in the game

Lowering it “more” is not always the best option, especially if it’s only for looks. You have to find a happy medium between ride height and what the suspension can handle. Not holding my breath on aftermarket dampers. I was initially hoping for Bilstein, but have heard nothing (have them on...

SLD Steeda rear sway bar - SE MI - needs re-coating or paint

The bushings look fine - just a bit grungy from the grease (they are poly and most likely a standard Energy Suspension offering). I double-check in a bit and snap another pic or two.

    Eibach finally in the game

I had chatted with a rep at Eibach a year or so back about springs, and they did just come out with them for the ST. I was close to going with Steeda, but after the bad experience with my rear sway bar rusting out, decided to put this project on hold. On my ‘03 Cobra, I have the Eibach-sourced...

SLD Steeda rear sway bar - SE MI - needs re-coating or paint

Still have this. Local buyer seems to have disappeared. It’ll go off to eBay soon.

Rattling noise coming from underneath new Explorer ST!

No. They will replace the mediocre pipes with the same mediocre pipes. The only option to fix the rattle is to go aftermarket or have new flex pipes welded in (the Walker 51110 is the one for the OE pipes). Just had mine done and the difference is night and day. Just too bad the main welder was...

    Hate my 3" thermal exhaust

That’s a very early system from the initial production run. They are all dual inlet/outlet (at the resonator, obviously) from somewhere after the beginning of ‘20.

    PIU struts/shocks

I thought one I saw did, but then again, wast just kicking that off the top of my head.

    PIU struts/shocks

A PIU 255/60-18 tire (off the top of my head) is 30” compared to about 30.75” for the 275/45-21 ST wheel/tire.

    PIU struts/shocks

You are obviously not paying attention. The PIU shocks are clearly listed: LB5Z-18125-J. Those are not the same p/n‘s for the ST. Even in the picture, the engineering numbers are also different. Same goes for the struts. If the PIU and ST shared the same dampers, the part numbers and engineering...

    PIU struts/shocks

I’ve said it more than once: If you want to cut down on some of the under-steer in an IRS vehicle, you stiffen the rear. It’s why the big front sway bars are a waste of money. I went the same route with my ‘03 Cobra and the difference is amazing. The Steeda and AFE rear bars are a great step...

SLD Steeda rear sway bar - SE MI - needs re-coating or paint

Edit: If a local sale doesn’t go through, I did find a perfect box that fits it nicely. Any buyer will just have to cover shipping.

    PIU struts/shocks

Yep - leaving the OE front bar and struts in. The big improvement here is only with the rear parts.

    PIU struts/shocks

Got my PIU rear bar and shocks installed today. I’d say it’s every bit as planted as it was with the Steeda rear bar (mine was completely rusted, so it had to go). My shocks only have 35,000 miles and one was starting to leak, but the PIU versions still feel slightly stiffer which is perfect...

SLD Steeda rear sway bar - SE MI - needs re-coating or paint

Had this Steeda bar on my ‘20 for about two years and much of the powder coating has flaked off as shown. Perfectly functional and could easily be stripped and re-coated. Don’t really want to ship it, but for anyone in lower MI, come get it for $100. Bolts and brackets included as shown.

    PIU rear sway bar

Yes. I want only the rear to be stiffer since that’s the way to trim down some under-steer. True, but a thicker bar is still going to tighten up the rear over a stock bar, just not to the extent of an adjustable bar. The difference may be minimal anyway, but I’ll know soon enough when I make...
