    Ford Performance Tune

It should, but it won’t. Just like when you buy the Ford ESP: it starts retroactively from your new in-service date. It’s a just-the-way-they-do-it thing. I’d not even bother having a dealer fuss with it on my ‘20 since I’ll be at three years of service in just a few more months. Since this tune...

    Ford Performance Tune

Not at all. Here’s an ‘official’ response from FP: The FPP 3/36 covers failures *directly* attributed to our parts, for 3/36 from the in-service date of the vehicle. Outside of that period, the factory warranty still applies, however *if* there is a failure that is directly attributed to our...

    Ford Performance Tune

The FP warranty, however it complements the original Ford warranty, is from the new vehicle in-service date. For those of us with ‘20’s that are coming up on three years old (or plenty with over 36K), it really will make no difference. That being said, it’s still a great way to go if you want...

    Black lug nuts

This is why it’s so easy to just buy the black PVD set from Ford Performance: same 21mm hex along with an OE look. Why hassle with having to keep an additional wrench or socket when you don’t need to. They’re only marginally more expensive than some of the aftermarket sets (paid $150 for mine...

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Cutting a section of exhaust pipe is nothing. The instructions show clearly where to make the cut(s), and a reciprocating saw will go through it in just a few seconds. It took way longer to get the mufflers set in and aligned than it did to cut.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

There are numerous sound clips throughout this thread. Several of us have used the stepped band clamps - mentioned many times in this thread as well. Gibson supplied those u-bolt clamps to ensure the tail pipes never separate (and probably to save some $$$), but it’s worked out well for those...

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

What a great deal from AutoAnything. This kit is such a score, even if you are paying $500 or slightly more. For merely a sound change, spending three or four times this is just a waste of money.

    Manual Cover

You can find the Ford Performance binders all over eBay. My ‘20 came with a generic black Ford case but the OCD I have necessitated the FP version. Thanks for the link on the clip, too - they tossed that shortly before my build and Ford doesn’t sell it separately.

    Coming soon aFe sway bars

You don’t need a bigger front sway bar if a drop in under-steer is desired. A larger rear bar for an IRS vehicle is perfect, hence why Steeda didn’t bother with the front bar. The larger rear one is all you need. It’s right in the owners manual…

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

It’s a fantastic sounding exhaust and a great bang for the buck. No drone or rattles with mine - couldn’t be happier with it. This is how the ST should have sounded from the factory and Gibson did a nice job getting the sound right without owners having to spend lots more money on a full kit...

Mishimoto's Explorer ST Catch Can R&D Thread

About 10 minutes, and that was only because it was a cool morning and my finger tips were a bit chilled. No problems at all - installing one is a cinch.

Mishimoto's Explorer ST Catch Can R&D Thread

Other than the slightly excessive wait, the kit looks and fit great. Very nice packaging, too. Slightly dirty engine bay, but happy with the OE look. Hope they sell very well.

    Oil catch cans

Yes. Via UPS. Call them to find out if you have any questions, they are pretty friendly. That's all I did many weeks back. That e-mail you received may have been just generic.

    Oil catch cans

Big deal, it is what it is. They fell short of their insistence that they’d ship earlier as I was told. Why do you care anyway? Some of us waited it out rather than put that JLT stuff on and will be fine.

    Oil catch cans

Golly…my 18,000 mile engine has amazingly not fallen apart without one since then.

    Oil catch cans

The Mishimoto versions are finally shipping. Mine will arrive Tuesday. Much cleaner install that looks more purpose-built, even though it’s about $50 more. https://www.mishimoto.com/baffled-oil-catch-can-kit-ford-explorer-st-2020.html

    MBRP Exhaust

Not restrictive at all. Straight-through flow for both tubes. The early versions were two-into-one, but the update is two-in, two-out. It’s why an axle-back is an easy upgrade that doesn’t drain your wallet, and why Gibson’s kit is what it is.

    MBRP Exhaust

Fantastic sound and a great bang for the buck, just a few posts down: https://www.explorerst.org/threads/new-gibson-axle-back-kit-in-the-works.2885/

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Good call on the paint. Mine is filthy right now from salt and winter crud, but I’ll re-adjust the tips down the road when the weather is nice and maybe hit the welds with some high-temp coating as well. Not really noticeable anyway, but something to do while I’m down there. Still loving the kit...
