Welcome to the Explorer ST Forum, please post an introduction

Good ole "Shake n Bake" ran my 67 GTO a Famoso more than a few times on grudge nights. Thought I was pretty bad ass. That was then, this is now, My ZFG tuned Explorer would've dusted the old goat. Good memories of watching Don the Snake Prudhomme and Big Daddy Don Garlits run there as a...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Good start. Check out ESTY or Amazon for those type of things, also check out the brushed aluminum peddle covers. Low cost and functional upgrade.

Welcome to the Explorer ST Forum, please post an introduction

Welcome to the ride! What part of central CA. I grew up in Lemoore, then Clovis. Be cautious of some of these characters on this forum, they'll help you spend a bunch of money on upgrades. In all seriousness, great group here. Willing to provide great insight, experiences, and knowledge. Enjoy

Squeaking noise coming from lowering springs

6 adults, luggage for a long weekend from Charlotte to Asheville no case of bottoming out on my Steedas....while NOT driving like a grandma, just sayin.

Thinking about buying a 2020 ST

In my case it was. Get car on a lift or jack it up. When cold grab pipe after the cat body. Move while looking at the weld. Just looking at the cat may not expose the break at the weld. Enjoy

Thinking about buying a 2020 ST

Have a real good look at the cats for weld and pipe fractures. I’m on number 3. 2020 with 52k

    Scratch through the black paint

Ton of mobile companies that repair them. I had some curb rash and fixed with bondo and rustolium gloss black. Had some curb rash, fixed with a little bondo sanded smooth and painted with Rustoleum gloss black. Has held up for a couple of years now. There are a bunch of companies that wii...

    Goodbye SS, Hello ST!

those SSs were bad ass. Sleeper of the first order, sorry for your loss. The ST is a worthy sleeper as well, especially with what you have in mind. Don’t forget the handling upgrades. I’m a Steeda fan but there are others. Enjoy

Best tune for 2020 Ford Explorer ST

TMac is right, some tuners on this site are small businesses just trying to provide a good product. Exactly the type CARB goes after.

    Catalytic Converters

sounds like a hole in a muffler. Very noticeable when idling. Look for black staining on the pipe. 2020s have a recall on them. Next time on a rack have someone check it out. Cheers

Not sure this is the proper recipe for a nuke. Believe this is for mustard gas. A nuke would require a trigger, such as a brand muffin. Just sayin

    Catalytic Converters

Appears I did. While I can't get a clear view from under the car or up top, I checked the invoice and it listed M1MZ-5E212-A and M1MZ-5S213-R. Both listed as Converter assembly. Said it replaces L1MZ series . Best I can tell the new series has the cast in flange. Pictures I can find show a...

    Catalytic Converters

Yes 2020. Not sure of the cast flange. Assuming you mean where it bolts at the engine. I’ll look this weekend. I’m putting muffler tape on it so it doesn’t sound like a 60k POS beater until I can get it in to replace.

    Catalytic Converters

Catalytic converter #3. First 2 replaced due to crack at the weld, passenger and driver side. This one is driver side. This is NOT at a weld, but a fractured pipe. Closest weld is at the very top where a support hanger rod is welded to the top of the cat pipe. 45 years of driving vehicles...

    Beach/Sand

Be careful. If you go to the north end of 12 around Corolla, it's pretty soft. Seen more than a few stock 4x4 F150s stuck. Only my opinion, but the ground clearance isn't high enough for loose beach sand. That and the fack if you do get stuck, how are you going to get it out. Older ST had a...

    Lurking and learning!!

Yep we found that place by accident on a random road trip a few years ago during the COVID lockdown. Not much was open but enjoyed the drive. Hey do me a favor, hit me up when 77 is complete through Statesville. I've been here for 22 years an have never known it to NOT be under construction...
