Low Pressure Gas Line Leaking After HPFP Install?

So what I did was I took these (see photo) and I slowly grinded away at the tips. They need to be a few mm smaller to fit in the bell of the oem fuel line to remove it. I can measure them with my calipers tonight when I get home if you want to know. Essentially each arm is slightly different in...

Low Pressure Gas Line Leaking After HPFP Install?

Ok! Let's tackle this! So in my experience, while removing the quick disconnect on the low pressure side, I ever so slightly nicked the o-ring and it produced a leak. I replaced both o-rings but I just could not get it to stop leaking. Not much, but enough that I could smell it in the car...

Low Pressure Gas Line Leaking After HPFP Install?

Do me a favor and touch under the high pressure side and make sure it is dry. See the nut with the blue mark run your finger under there. Just right of the green sticker. Report back.

Low Pressure Gas Line Leaking After HPFP Install?

I'm out right now but I have an entire saga about that spot. Give me a few and I'll post my experience and solution.

Low Pressure Gas Line Leaking After HPFP Install?

I struggled with this for like 2 days. Can you attach some photos and show me where you think the fuel is leaking from? I have replaced my pump 3 times so I know it fairly well.

    Your ST's pet name??

Snowflake, because she's always beeping at me when I back out of anywhere, CELs, breaking down, etc. She's a real snowflake, so fitting.

Pull the spare and backseats and you're in the 12's. 1.90 seems high for 60' was this a prepped track?

Miracle My Engine Didn't Blow Up

Well I feel I am talking to a wall but all is good now. Scoped cylinders, all good. Fixed wastegate vacuum nipple (bored the hole to 1/2" and screwed in a male 6AN to 5/16" SAE nipple, it was a very snug fit and didn't seem to leak but I did put JB weld high psi type around it in addition just...

Miracle My Engine Didn't Blow Up

Next challenge, I want to rule out bad gas, I bought a bi directional scanner but it didn't have the fuel pump option. Is there any other way to turn the pump on to drain the tank?

Good to know. I hadn't even considered them. Thanks.

    Time For Upgrades

Fair enough. I only spoke to what I had first hand experience with. Off topic but curious, any evidence downpipes do anything? I did them on my 2.7l and it was a 0 change.

    Time For Upgrades

Not knowing your goals, let's assume HP and speed. Intercooler and tune as many have done will get you to the low 12's in the 1/4. So for ~$2100 you get about 100HP boost. For another $3100 you can get Nostrum's stage 1 HPFP and injectors. That will get you ~150hp on 93 or ~200HP on E85...

Miracle My Engine Didn't Blow Up

I broke this nipple off. And even better I dropped it below when I removed it from the clip. Anyone have any experience fixing a nipple like this? Or what the FoMoCo part number is for this charge pipe? Thanks.

Miracle My Engine Didn't Blow Up

I'll be scoping each cylinder, especially #5 where the original plug disintegrated.

Miracle My Engine Didn't Blow Up

Ya which sucks because I am already on my second set of injectors. First set failed 8 months ago. But I'll do my due diligence before jumping to any conclusions.

Miracle My Engine Didn't Blow Up

I have not but I will be turning to this thread for the consensus of tests I should do to rule out what's wrong. Plug, coil, injector, or something worse.

Miracle My Engine Didn't Blow Up

Of course. Misfire 3 5 6. I suppose there's a chance there's an issue with number 3 plug. But either way something bigger is wrong if I'm buying plugs every other week. I'll update this weekend when I tear it apart.

Miracle My Engine Didn't Blow Up

Well I drove 2.5 hours away on a trip and same thing happening, misfire city. Changed 5 of the plugs (all but #3), all looked good and didnt change the outcome. I stopped after I slipped and broke a vacuum nipple off the charge pipe. So waiting on a very expensive tow home to rip it apart...

Miracle My Engine Didn't Blow Up

Number 5 is easy to get to, which was the plug in discussion. Maybe I'll scope it this week if enough people get on this thread and pressures me lol. Don't want too jynx my fortune though.
