Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

A few 2023s have the 4 bolt. I think the vast majority are still 3 bolt.

    Navigation sound garbled

There are tabs and screw holes for stock. Aftermarket speakers will need some work and cannot have too much depth. It looks like the same 3" speakers that are in the doors.

    Navigation sound garbled

Navigation comes from the center speaker on the B&O system. I would pop the cover and unscrew the speaker and check to make sure the harness is fully plugged in. I think you might be right that it's blown though.

    FPIU Headlights on Explorer ST?

This works for DRL. Doesn't work at night which is fine by me. https://www.explorerst.org/threads/interceptor-amber-drls-on-explorer-st.1559/page-3#post-69157

    Lights/Dashboard Remain Powered After Locking

I've had that happen before too and it is also rare. Restarting the car and shutting it off usually works. Sometimes I've had to remove the negative terminal of the battery for a hard reboot. All I can suggest is make sure you are on the latest Sync. I feel like when this happens, one of...

    PIU struts/shocks

I have the stock 21" rims. I will say after a 1000 mile break-in, they no longer are harsh except on choppy roads. I still feel road feel is enhanced. Car is definitely more stable, especially at speed.

    Headlight/Fog Light Tint

Anything with curves is hard to do. It takes patience and practice. Just one reason I don't like precut tint/film. Maybe contact the vendor and say you messed up--many will offer replacements for a fraction of the cost.

    PIU struts/shocks

It's kind of crazy how much parts have gone up in just a matter of months. I just checked... Paid $440 shipped for PIU shocks and struts Mar/Apr '23.

    PIU struts/shocks

Have 10k miles on my PIU struts/shocks now. Ride is very nice. I dont need testing...they are firmer than stock. Perfect for lowering springs.

    Steeda Subframe bushings

These bushing supports aren't too expensive, are easy to install, and make a difference you can feel... it's definitely worth it! Anyone with a 3 bolt try to get it to fit? Unfortunately, at least half the STs out there are probably 3 bolt.

    Best plastic cleaner

I saw a youtube video that used a white pencil eraser on the trim. I bought some and shockingly, it removed the rubbing compound that nothing would take off! Here is the eraser I am talking about: https://a.co/d/0vGOEYO

Temperature Presets no longer above the controllers?

You can restore this feature if you really want to: https://www.explorerst.org/threads/how-to-front-climate-control-swap-add-20-21-temp-display-to-22.4553/

    Wheel Spacers

If you are running stock wheels, i really think you should have gone with 1.25" spacer. Regardless, No locktite is needed. Just re-torque the nuts holding the spacer on after a few hundred miles just like you would with new alloy wheels. I recently removed 1.5" spacers from the rear and they...

Radio problems and dealer cant get parts? Great having an extended warranty that I cant use!!

Nice save Dale. Kind of funny how last couple of months the cases of reported "failed APIM" (according to the dealer) in the forum have gone way up. I suspect all of them are just faulty Sync versions. Btw rrizzo123, even with the 23188 installed, I would still recommend a master reset and...

    Leaking transmission?

If there's not that much oil and no drip on the floor, I'd probably drive it. Ask them to look at your catalytic converter downpipes too:rolleyes:

Lowering Springs: Lethal, Eibach, Steeda, H&R PROS and CONS

I like my Steeda's but really disappointed that a lot of the paint is now gone and there is heavy rust--rears more so than fronts. Same with the rear sway bar. If you live up North, don't expect your Steeda springs and sway bar to last more than 5-6 years.

    Leaking transmission?

What year is your ST? Some MY2020's had transmission cooler leaks. That definitely looks like transmission fluid.

    Bad CV joints

It is unusual. They are faulty. Just another flawed part for MY2020 and early MY2021, like catalytic converter pipe welds, failing flex sections, and likely axle hub actuator leaks (as these cars pack on the miles).

    Wheel Spacers

I wouldn't say terrible. It does stand to reason wear on the bearing will increase. But replacing the hub with bearing isn't a big deal.

Unstable in the rain, need some help.

I've can name plenty of instances where the car drives straight but I haven't got to getting the alignment yet. As soon as rain or snow hits, it can be down right scary how it drives.
