Unstable in the rain, need some help.

Is an alignment listed under the work invoice? If not, I'd go back and tell them the car drives squirrelly now. If they did anything with the subframe, they should do an alignment. I honestly don't know what's involved with replacing a rear diff though.

    Removal of 3rd seat row

Yup. I see VW CrossSports all the time and it looks good. Mazda is coming out soon with the CX70, basically a 2 row version of the CX90. A 2 row Explorer would be a nice upgrade over the Edge too.

    Removal of 3rd seat row

With the Edge getting discontinued, they should just come out with a 2 row Explorer. Maybe change up the looks a little bit. Would be a winner.

    4WD Fault Service Required

Check out this post: https://www.explorerst.org/threads/6-faults-and-awd-module.5016/#post-72225 This part, L1MZ 7P238 A, doesn't have a lot of description when you search the part sites. Your best bet may be to contact the parts department of one of the Ford parts suppliers. I know Levittown...

    headlamp switch module problem

Just wanted to report an issue with the headlamp switch module in case anyone has this turn up. Today, I turn off the car and noticed the car was chiming. I thought that was strange but could find nothing wrong. I return home and park it in my garage. I notice the headlights and...

    4WD Fault Service Required

Yeah, dealerships like to feed people BS and hope you buy it. I've done the speed sensor. It would be a 15 minute job except that front differential oil leaks out the moment you remove it so you need to top that off. 0.8 hrs or 1 hr is about right. Like others said, I'd replace that and the...

    Headlight/Fog Light Tint

Where did you get the Lamin-X? A sheet or pre-cut?

    First Brake Replacement

I bought pads -F and -J but don't quote me because I haven't installed them yet. Waiting for them to wear out. I like the stock setup too--best set of stock brakes I've ever had! Will likely get stock rotors too but haven't decided. You might want to check out Rockauto--sometimes they have...

    6 Faults and AWD Module

It's mind boggling how an AWD module is not covered. And speed sensor too for that matter. Problem also is that there is NO consistency--some are getting it covered under Powertrain warranty and some are not. I'd definitely give the Ford customer support line a call in any case. You didn't...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I previously had 1.25" F / 1.5" R spacers. I decided that there is just too much wheel poke in the rear for my liking. The rear spacers were really stuck on there. I used a chisel and a dead blow hammer to get them off. I like the 1.25" F & R much better. Looks even F & R. Anyone have any...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

I did the same thing --it's just easier to replace it yourself than to play the warranty game. I did notice that the replacement axle had a different boot design--one extra fold to the bellow. I am hoping it will last longer than the original which all seem to tear near the clamp on the shaft.

    Transmission Oils, first timer

That's extremely odd about the front diff drain bolt. The fill and drain both gave me no trouble at all with steady pressure with breaker bar. I definitely would avoid impact wrench or it could get damaged. I don't know if you have a vacuum extractor but I might try that through the fill hole...

    6 Faults and AWD Module

Well, clearly you have something major going on. Thankfully you still have Powertrain warranty. Hopefully you get it fixed soon.

    Transmission Oils, first timer

I happen to have a small pivoting socket driver that happen to barely work. Look at your socket driver and see how thick it is. Some say theirs worked. All my regular socket drivers were too thick including my 1/4" drivers. I bought this for next time: https://a.co/d/ipn8v5n

    Cross Brace

It may add stiffness, but it is rare to be able to feel any changes with one -- on any car. It is noticeable on a Miata because the dash rattle is markedly reduced but I'd be hard pressed to notice any handling benefit.

    Oil/Trans/Diff Smell?

I doubt it's the hub actuator leak. You really don't smell it ( or at least I didn't). I feel like if you smell oil, it's from oil burning after it drips on your exhaust. I'd recommend getting the Explorer in the air and taking a close look around.

    6 Faults and AWD Module

I'd try Forscan. Run service procedures to reset AWD module and PCM. worth a try anyways....

    Eibach pro done!

    Side pic? Looks low!

    6 Faults and AWD Module

I'd recommend getting a Forscan setup ASAP. If you are out of warranty, dealers can charge a diagnostic fee and you will also have a heads up on the problem at hand. I personally like the OBDLink MX+ with Forscan Lite iOS.

    Debating on Fords Extended Warranty

The LED headlights and taillights are not user serviceable. If they fail, you need to replace the entire fixture. I believe the headlights are around $1000 each.
