Transmission Fluid Change - Should I or wait?

If anyone has done this, approximately how much trans oil do i need to buy for a drain, filter replacement and fill.

    Steeda Subframe bushings

I have a MY2020 2-bolt. Not sure if it's foolproof but i did a parts search on Levittown Ford parts site (where i normally get my stuff) using my VIN# and there was only one rear subframe listed. So that's the one I selected (MB5Z-5035-J)

    Steeda Subframe bushings

Easy install, about 45 minutes. Watching the Steeda video is all you need. Car feels more stable, connected. Would definitely recommend after all the usual mods have been done. Not a lifechanging difference but for many, will add to driving enjoyment.

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

SnoopST, you've got a bad case there. Not even sure Ford is going to be able to fix things once the new version bows in, unless they have some way to free up memory because in cases like yours, there isn't enough memory to even change version.

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

No one knows if it will be an official release. I had it on 22200 before I went to 23188. 22200 is SOLID. Don't even sweat 23188 right now if you don't want to risk anything.

    Exhaust Sounds Through Speakers?

Also, it's only in SPORT mode. You won't hear any fake exhaust in other modes.

2024 Ford Explorer Refresh Fully Revealed

No official word. There are rumors it may be a MY2025 bowing in next summer preceded by a short run of MY2024 (unchanged).

    PIU struts/shocks

I have 8 thousand miles on my PiU struts shocks. After break-in of about a thousand miles, I feel any harshness is gone. Loving the ride but honestly can't say for sure if the ride is much different than when the car was new. too many variables now too. I would certainly be interested in the...

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

Wow. Not even "System updating.."? Did you attempt that with the car running? I remember last year, my Sync did not start the system updating after I put the USB in. I suspected a low battery condition (because of that and other issues) and after replacing my battery, it recognized the USB...

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

Did you actually try Cyanlabs Sync3Updater to create a upgrade USB stick to 23188 with app package only? Next time MR freezes after 30 minutes, soft reset a couple of times and then try to update it. If the upgrade takes longer than 30 minutes, it'll eventually time out with "ver_err008" but...

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

They are referring to the map update. NEVER EVER use Cyanlabs' Sync3Updater to do a map update for MY2020+ of any Ford. Always select "keep existing maps". Map updates should only be done through the Ford owners website (provided you are still within the 3 year free map update period)...

    PIU struts/shocks

That's an awesome idea. Can I ask who's doing the testing? Hopefully you'll post results to this forum? Some of us don't have facebook. Also, were the part# the same as I listed above. When I was looking at PIU parts it seemed like there were some listings that were shared with base...

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

If you don't use those features, you don't have to update those packages. I didn't as I use carplay all the time. Some report glitches to navigation voice but nothing major.

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

Some people with really bad memory issues can't get past master reset. I would try two soft resets, then master reset. If it completes the MR, then do the two SR and insert USB update thumbdrive. The goal with the MR and SR is to free up just enough memory to do the update. You cannot update...

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

Also, if you are having memory issues, I would recommend only updating the "app" portion of the 23188 package. In Sync3Updater, simply deselect Gracenotes and Voice. You can later install those two components after successful completion of the app package in the future using Sync3Updater...

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

That is it in a nutshell. The "keep current maps" is what you set in Cyanlabs Sync3Updater software. So to recap: HR + SR + SR + insert upgrade USB (wait for system to fully boot up in between each step).

    Headlight, tailight seals

yup. I managed to repair a seal to a headlight. Had one tail light with condensation. Replaced that out of pocket. Ford quality is definitely an issue and has been reported extensively in the media. They are spending a fortune on recall and warranty repairs.

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

Just a word of caution for others. MY2020+ cannot update maps using the Cyanlabs Sync3Updater. It will alert you to this but if you bypass the warning and proceed, you will brick your APIM.

    ST vs. Platinum Engine

All the tunes will get you what the ST gains from them. If you want to play it safe, get the Ford Performance Tune. I'm sure you can get a custom tune and request the stock level calibration for an ST but that's kind of a waste.

    Map Update

For some reason, I was thinking we had 5 years of free updates but I guess not. I've always used a map app on carplay anyways so no big loss. I've only been keeping up with the maps just in case I should be somewhere with no cell service.
