Interceptor amber DRL's on Explorer St

Read post #55 carefully and look at the pic. a flashlight on the light sensor. https://www.explorerst.org/threads/interceptor-amber-drls-on-explorer-st.1559/page-3#post-69157

    Exhaust Help

Well that sucks. I'd put in a NHTSA complaint about it. They have other catalytic converter recalls on file so it must fall under their jurisdiction.

    Exhaust Help

It may be a long shot but Id give Ford customer service line a call and explain that, despite having a lot of miles, your explorer is only 4 years old! The same manufacturing flaws that plague the left cat also happens on the right...just maybe not as often. Ford has replaced these on MY2020 in...

Electrical / Battery / Deep Sleep

At least for my MY2020, the TSB on deep sleep involved reflashing a few of the modules and that solved the problem. I also have Auto start/stop deactivated (via tune), and turn off all feedback to ford, wifi connection, software autoupdate, etc. You should also try to have one of the those...

    Deep Sleep Mode

I should add that MY2020 has a TSB for frequent deep sleeps. Involves flashing the firmware for several modules. I'm assuming it is eliminating parasitic drains with the car off.

    Modem and navigation issues

Cyanlabs already has found v. 23188 on Ford Servers which fixes the problem. Time will tell if this is the version that will get officially released. Cyanlabs will release a new version just a few weeks ahead of official release in most cases.

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

Did you do a master reset after update. Definitely recommended, and then just redo all your settings.

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

Cyanlabs find these new versions on Ford servers weeks to months before official release. In many cases though, there is a bug in them and they never get officially released, as seems to be the case with 23088. For most, waiting is the best option. Especially if on 22251 with full rwdata...

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

Best part? Sounds like rwdata full memory is fixed: Fixed SLOGS compression and purge

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Curious what build is on that new APIM. $100 is not bad for the latest hardware/firmware. Hopefully not the latest Sync, lol.

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

The benefit I can see with a new APIM is that it will be newer hardware, likely running the newest firmware. Who knows? Maybe it's the older APIMs that are running into trouble. For MY2020 owners, I know there's at least one firmware update out there. Seems like many of us with problems...

    New Sync 3 Version 3.4.22251

So under b2b warranty? Extended warranty? What did they say it would cost you? The probably for Ford is their standard method for downloading a USB for upgrading Sync is NOT going to work. There is not enough memory for a standard upgrade. This would presumably include the wifi download...

    Error C00A6:07-68 C00A6:74-6C need help

Sharapov, your problem is not the speed sensor. The car drives fine when the speed sensor is faulty--you just don't get the features. I would think the hub actuator bulletin that you posted might be a good place to start. When is your build date? At some point the deleted the electrical port...

    ST tail lights

Just wanted to give anyone looking for ST tail lights a heads up. ST tail lights (as well as ST line and Timberline) are dark tinted on the sides. They are harder to find on EBAY. Finally, saw this listing for two brand new ST tail lights that are priced for what a single used one costs...

    Brake replacement

I probably drive 80% highway too and bought pads for when the stock street pack wear out--that was about 20k miles ago. Still going strong at 69k miles!

    Tink noise?

it could be the rear axle spline into the knuckle. i believe there is a TSB on it and the fix is to lubricate the splines. it's a metallic "tink" from the rear.

    Jump Starter

Doesn't matter to me if the BMS gets bypassed. I do not use auto-start/stop and am interested in only in maintaining the battery during a long period of inactivity or a shorter period in extreme cold. I also disabled Ford from getting feedback, don't have the car connected to wifi, and...

Edit: See MikeHTally's pick a few post down. That is the proper position for ground...the nut above the BMS sensor.

    Modem and navigation issues

That TSB is unrelated. It is old and the symptoms don't quite match. This problem surfaced after the install of 22251 which I believe was late 2022 or early 2023? Most of us affected didn't have any issues until a few months after 22251 however--probably not until the memory free space filled up.
