    Forscan Project

Many thanks to those who came before me and posted all of the advise and direction for using Forscan. I followed the collective wisdom offered on this forum and did the basics (Disable Auto Start/Stop, Bambi Mode and Disable Double Horn Honk) with no issues, drama or gnashing of teeth. This...

new 2023 ST Explorer and forscan and gauges

Thanks Nightgshade and Powerboatr for all the work you are doing and posting for forscan updates. Much appreciated. Looking forward to trying them on my 25 when it gets here in early Aug.

    Tire size question.

    Would a 275/50/21 be a better option?

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

...the rear bulbs with the HSF kit, and got tint installed yesterday. 15 on fronts, 20 all the way around the rear, and 50 on windshield. Got my forscan obdlink coming tomorrow to mess around with some programming. Updated my Sync3 to the latest 23188 as well, that was probably the biggest pain...

    Sync 3.4 Issues

So let me say this, although I know of Forscan, I don't know the difference between what Ford dealers use and Forscan however, my buddy did tell me that he has it and has had to use it to help fix cars that had bricked modules and other things. He told me he is going to scan everything on the ST...

    Sync 3.4 Issues

...Then they have to sideload the programming. Put me through hell. Even now with my 23 ST, it had issues that I ended up fixing. I bought Forscan, a commercial style interface and if I have to, I pay for a short subscription to the Ford software. You can have 6 modules that can be updated and...

    Tire size question.

Or you can leave it alone and get less tickets. showing 65 = 62? No real issue. What does it do, show improper MPG? Who cares. If you're calculating MPG from the dash, you're doing it wrong anyway. (Fill the tank all the way, drive, be at the same angle, fill it to the top again, Miles/Gallons...

    Tire size question.

I’m going to say the car will look odd with that tire size but there shouldn’t be a problem. Only thing is Speedo will be off but that’s easily fixed with Forscan.

    service issues

...will be totally fine. I don't worry about it unless it is a code that keeps coming back. I periodically check my car for codes using Forscan Lite and there is almost always a few codes logged. Most are not even noticed by me driving the car so I just clear them and move on. In contrast...

How-To: Adding Hands Free Liftgate Late '22 and '23 explorer.

if it has never worked you may have just a dummy module. And then Forscan adjustments.

How-To: Adding Hands Free Liftgate Late '22 and '23 explorer.

...I'm sorry, but why change the factory module that is installed by the factory? I have module and antennas. The power lift gate is activated in Sync, but the function does not work, was the unit damaged by an impact during an accident or do I need to change something in Forscan? A little confused.

Not really sure where this should go (Forscan Software Question)

You're probably right, although it would be nice to be able to tweak a few of those.... like the Bambi fog light/high beam thing and the auto fold mirrors. Yeah, it's old, but only has 64,000 miles; is pristine; paid for; never had a mechanical issue and runs like a Rolex. (Although having said...

Not really sure where this should go (Forscan Software Question)

The different options are model and year dependent. Seems like the F150 is the most researched and seem to have the most Forscan options. For instance, they can initiate the 360 camera calibration that looks identical to what we need FDRS to do. There is no 360 camera calibration in Forscan...

Not really sure where this should go (Forscan Software Question)

...of labor....... in this case $229.00. Going back to the internet and doing a search for the process, I came across hundreds of hits for the Forscan software and how to install it and make the fixes myself. The software was free (with the option to buy a license) and required an ODB to USB...

    Palm Beach dyno

Ok, I’ll try to remember to take a screen shot next time I’m connected to my Explorer. I think it was in the “IPC” module, Configuration menu, but I didn’t dig into it to find the hex word containing the switch bit. The transmission data stream is already on the vehicle data bus and the display...

    Palm Beach dyno

I do not think showing the gears always is a part of the Forscan capability as of yet. Other Ford platforms have asked in the Forscan community forums and there was no solution. Up until recently, Livernois' tune did not show gear so I was looking at Forscan for a solution but there was none...

FYI, the gear indication and many more changes are doable by anyone using the FORScan software and a cheap ELM327 interface device with their Windows computer. There’s a thread on this forum with the info. Search “FORScan”.

new 2023 ST Explorer and forscan and gauges

Hey John! I believe it may be the cable, and thanks for the cable you said you have! I highly recommend the popular OBDLink EX, which is 100% better for FORScan. A lot faster; it's tried and true! If you are in US: OBDLink EX - Amazon US If you are in Canada: OBDLink EX - Amazon Canada

...still no luck getting the IPC to show up. I am wondering if it is related to the cable I have, or maybe that was incorrect conclusions when I was reading other people's issues. I have both the Forscan labeled one and a Tactrix J2534 cable. Is there one that is known better than the rest...

Brake light issue, new harness didn't fix

Yeah, either disconnect the battery or using Forscan, reboot the BCM which controls the tail lights.
