Welcome to the Explorer ST Forum, please post an introduction

    (y) Tell me about it. The Aurora Black Stinger GT I had needed a dose of ceramic detail spray at least twice a week. My Iconic Silver ST, about once a month. Lol Speaking of black vehicles, that's the first Agate Black ST I've seen with the 20' wheels/tires. That thing is sharp, more pics...

Explorer ST 1/4 Mile Time Slips

Anything to help young people these days is sorely needed, they're up against a Commie/Socialist world gone mad. That sad fact aside, the track still should've been prepped.

I like the way you think.

Dragy 10Hz, RaceBox 10Hz or RaceBox Mini 25Hz?

Okay, I just turned a 13.73@101.3 mph. And even though DRAGY shows it as "VALID", I know the road curved to the L so I'm not posting it.

Put some soft compound tires on those 18's and make a lap down the quarter. haha

FS 21" New take offs (only 40mi) located in NH

Okay, I have to ask. You special ordered your ST with the 21's and waited 6 months for it to come in. Why the desire now for the factory 20's? Just curious, as it seems most people want the 21's. Thanks.

    Post your Dragy times.

Absolutely. I was just saying the diff between the 20's and 21's because I plan on keeping my OEM 20's.
  8. CareerFiremanGuy

Very rough render of what i hope a would be Explorer R would look like.

Okay, I had to see the side-by-side diff. Now I get it! Some type of functional hood scoop would be nice too.

Explorer ST 1/4 Mile Time Slips

Wow, no prep. Everyone racing there must have been pretty ticked off.

So there we go, the difference between a set of OEM 20's vs 21's (wheels and tires) is 16 lbs. Actually, not that great. But there's still the benefit of less unsprung rotational mass rotational to consider too.

We need to do a "Bone Stock 20 inch vs. 21 inch Dragy" thread to see how much quicker the ST is with the smaller wheels/tires combo. Unfortunately, every published road test is with the 21's.

You're having traction problems with a bone stock ST? Someone probably leaked fluid on the track ...

    Good clean humor and jokes

They found Bob ... He was underneath the scale, flattened like a pancake. LEO's say it looks like a 200 lb. person stepped on him.

The new 2023 Mustang get you some of that !

So FORD makes ST center caps that people can afford, but not the actual vehicles that they go on. Got it. Manufacturers keep raising the price on their vehicles, assembly lines will slow to a crawl or close altogether ...

    Oil change schedule

What the OLM ("oil life monitor") tells you or sooner is just fine. Zero penalty for earlier oil changes (except of course for cash spent). My dealer specifically recommends 5,000 mile intervals and FORD's warranty department will have absolutely no issue with that.

Just got a ST last week

Well, think of it this way: 95% of ST's seem to have the 21", so we have the rare model ST replacing the 4 OEM 20" tires will cost you $1,105 versus $1,456 for the OEM 21"

I'm surprised nobody has answered you yet! DA (Density Altitude) can greatly effect performance. Increased air temp, lower barometric pressure and higher humidity all have a detrimental effect on acceleration numbers. Go to this website, plug in a few variables, and watch how much the ET/MPH...
