    Road trip planning: MPG

I coulda sworn I read 17.9... Shit I didnt read thats on the 4cyl models. ST and Platinum do indeed have 20.2. BUT to be fair I usually fuel when the low fuel light comes on(50 miles to empty) and generally get somewhere in the 17-18 range in the tank. Which I guess makes sense if I am...

    Road trip planning: MPG

Good numbers. Thanks. That makes me more confident I can probably pull more than 22. If I can pull 24mpg * 17 gallons I can go 408 miles with 1 gallon to spare. The MAX I would need to run is 385 miles.

    Ford Co-pilot 360 thread

Sorry but its ridiculous to come on here and rant multiple posts about a function that can be turned off with a button that is 3" from your thumb while you are driving the vehicle. The green lines and steering wheel disappear from the screen. The other button on it sets the follow distance, I...

    Ford Co-pilot 360 thread

TURN OFF THE LANE CENTERING... problem solved. Instead of just bitching about something that can be turned off... turn it the hell off... The damn button is on the steering wheel.. use your left thumb to turn it off. And there are 3 modes to cruise control: normal, intelligent, and adaptive...

    Towing w/ the ST

electric trailer brakes? Weight distributing hitch? The explorer is supposedly wired for them, just got to get the correct adapter for the brake controller. I know a few people here have them. Im looking at buying a boat that will be pretty close to the max tow rating, but, beyond wherever I...

    Towing w/ the ST

Shit... nice. The article I saw was dated 2020, I didnt know the 2021 was a whole new re-design. Based on the Ram 1500... Yea thats going to be a way more capable tow vehicle than the ST.

Durango is unibody since 2010 I believe. Same chassis as Jeep Grand Cherokee.

    Towing w/ the ST

transmission, differentials, gearing, brake size, cooling ability, etc... all play a roll. Without knowing the differences in the Durango and Explorer in those areas its hard to know. I'm GUESSING the ecoboost is harder to keep cool vs. the Hemi with the turbo's adding to the heat load. The...

    Road trip planning: MPG

I'm only on 44 in Oklahoma from big cabin to Missouri about 40 miles. The Indian nation turn pike. I won't be looking for 93 along there because every exit is a toll. Just use the website find93.com

    Road trip planning: MPG

I will likely just flash my stock 87 tune back on and go and then when I get up there flash back. I think on the whole trip its only about a $50 cost difference between 87 and 93 so not real crazy on cost. I dont go through Tulsa... way out of the way. I run up 69 from Denison to Big Cabin...

    Road trip planning: MPG

Getting ready to head out on a road trip to my parents in St. Louis, ~700 miles to their house. Trying to do some fuel planning as 93 is hard to get once I leave Texas(im on ZFG 93 tune and dont REALLY want to flash back to stock LOL). There MAY be one station in Mcalester, OK that has...

    Zfg question.

I tend to drive the vehicle a bit before I do any data logging. Usually 2 days or so, lets say 75-100 miles. Gives the computer time to do any learning its going to do. I read somewhere it was recommended minimum 35 miles after flashing before doing data logging.

I got the P-Gear yesterday. Need to go play with it. Was thunderstorm and heavy rain all day yesterday. Not the best time to go out and hammer on the exploder.

    Zfg question.

An extra tune is $250. https://www.tunedbyzfgracing.com/product-page/2020-21-ford-explorer-3-0l-zfg-racing-additional-custom-tune I would do the 93 tune FIRST and then decide if you want the E50 tune later. Then you know the process of datalog, upload, reflash, datalog, upload, reflash...
