Thanks for pointing out this integration. I found it rather convoluted to get working but did manage it. Pretty cool to start the ST by yelling at Alexa.

My USB update was eventless and the XML file was placed on the drive, as expected. Uploading it to Ford also worked as expected. What I don’t understand is why a system that can report the vehicle’s mileage, tire pressure, oil life, fuel level, etc. can’t also report the current Sync version.

The Parking Brake can always be released with the button. No issue for me.

I think the best choice is the bolt shown in post #34. But, I just couldn’t get to it. The one I used seems to keep the ground wire high enough to avoid damage and I had plenty of wire available.

This is the bolt I used. If you follow the metal tube to which your brake pedal is attached, you’ll find it.

IIRC, I used one of the brake pedal mounting bolts. If there’s something like Harbor Freight up in BC, this gadget is great to have and will help you find a solid grounding point. https://www.harborfreight.com/612v-circuit-tester-with-5-ft-lead-63603.html

I wasn’t able to easily find a solution. So, I ended up running the cable under this rubber plug and making a mess with silicone caulk. Not the kind of work I like to do but it works.

No issues so far.

I don’t see how there could be enough battery for it to remain online. On the other hand, sending a command thru the app (i.e., remote start) does wake it up.
