To be honest, the aFe is not that loud. It has a good note and tone with no drone. I'm digging it! That being said, it's definitely not broken in yet and will probably get louder as the center muffler breaks in.

Good morning all. The aFe 2.5" catback exhaust should be released very shortly. They just installed their production black tip system on my Explorer yesterday. I'll try and take some pics today and I'll also try and get some sound clips going so you can hear how it sounds with their intake...

I spoke with the engineer and his goal is for them to start going out this week, so if I had to guess I'd sat closer to the end of the week.

But if Ford made the change, wouldn't you think that would be reflected on the build sheet? I would think the build sheet would then call for the 3 bolt subframe as opposed to still showing that it was supposed to be built with the 4 bolt subframe. Just a thought.

There are so many options for that as I'm sure you already know. I was very happy with the system that aFe is creating and will be releasing soon. Thermal is another good system. For me, those are the only 2 options for what I am looking for. Some people are happy with the Gibson axle-back...

Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to install it. I know that they created very detailed instructions and that they are going to be creating an installation video.

Oh absolutely. As I've said in previous posts. I don't work for them. They've been using my Explorer as their test platform for both the intake and exhaust. I am personally happy with what I've seen from them and will continue to support them. Although I agree that using the original baseline...

I totally understand everyone's skepticism. All dynos and tests for aFe's CAI and exhaust were done using my vehicle (stock except for turbosmart 50/50 bov and jlt catch can). Their other products such as their scorcher tuner was used on a different ST. All I can say from dealing with everyone...
