Replaced cabin filter and found extra part?

It is the door that changes the air flowing through the hvac to come from outside the vehicle or inside the vehicle and it is pretty important in my opinion. In winter time sourcing air from outside the vehicle can make the heat be less hot and in summer the ac to be less cold. It also has an...

    HELP WITH CODE P0456

Evap tests are usually run within the 1st 30 minutes that a vehicle has been started after it has sat overnight adn certain driving conditions have been met however you can get it to run even if it has not sat overnight by clearing the codes and then starting the engine without turning the...

Replaced cabin filter and found extra part?

That's not an extra part! That looks like your recirculation door has broken which sucks because that requires pulling the dash board if I'm not mistaken.

The "Space GhoST" has lost its powers....

That's an interesting take on the Motorcraft battery. I"ve gotten to the point where I won't sell them in the shop anymore. Same goes for As Delco. I've had really good luck with World Source One, Deka and also Napa Legend Premium batteries. My preference is World Source One batteries but I...

The "Space GhoST" has lost its powers....

You have to keep in mind the environment that the battery lives in. The battery in my BMW is an AGM and resides under the rear floor in my GT. Whatever the interior temp of the car is is pretty much what the battery is and I get 5+ years out of a battery. Batteries that are located under the...

The "Space GhoST" has lost its powers....

The alt on the ST is rated at 220 amps which is more than enough for this application. At just over 600 rpms the alt is capable of outputting 112 amps and a max of 233 amps at 2500 rpms.

2020 Explorer/Aviator Module Updates by Ford

I wouldn't be so quick to update modules if you are not having any issues with the exception of the SYNC system. Updating modules may cause some other things to operate in a way that is not favorable to the customer. The parking brake applying automatically comes to mind when one updates the...

    HELP WITH CODE P0456

Is everything stock? One of the 1st things I do on Ford's with the capless fuel filler neck is to take the funnel that is supplied to put gas in the car in case of emergency and install and remove it a few times in the filler neck. Clear the codes and see if they come back. The permanent code...

    22” Wheels??

I'm guessing about $7k for wheels and tires installed.

    Towing Mileage

Unless you tune for the intercooler you won't realize any performance gains...kind of. Installing an intercooler on the ST will help it maintain the power it is making due to charge temps not climbing but it will not make any more power unless it is tuned. On mine after installing the...

    New wheels … new issues

The only way I could see larger, or smaller tires for that matter, cause issues is if the car checked the vehicle speed as seen by the wheel speed sensors with gps data or even transmission output shaft speed. I have seen where one tire has a larger, or smaller, diameter than the others and...

Driver seat ease of entry problem

If your a dealer tech then you should know that the Explorer has no capabilities for OTA updates other than Sync. Log in and look at connected vehicle and you will find a list of OTA updates that have taken place in the last 60 days along with ones that are scheduled but your not going to see...

Driver seat ease of entry problem

Yes Ford started equipping vehicles in 2020. It wasn't until the middle of 2021 that they started to do some OTA updates but even then it was only on F150's and Mach E's and only very few modules. Most 2020 + Ford vehicles do however get Sync ota updates but nothing else. As far as I know Ford...

    Lumbar setting drif?

I stopped using the lumbar for this very reason. Mine never changed notches on the display but I'm comfortable enough in the seat the way it normally is so its not a big deal. I would set mine to where I liked it but once I got out and back in the air bladders would never conform to how they...

    Doors Lock Automatically

You have somehting wrong with your vehicle then. Even if the vehicle was equipped with walk away locking you have to be further away from the vehicle in order for it to lock. As far as I know Ford or Lincoln has never produced a vehicle with walk away locking.

    Doors Lock Automatically

So I understand correctly. The engine is not running and the ignition is off You get out of the vehicle and close the door by not touching the door handle or touching the keyless entry pad. The door closes and then immediately locks. Is that the correct sequence?

    10R60 Transmission

Good video. Depending on outside temps a 15 minute drive should be enough to bring the trans to temp but being that fluid temp is critical to proper fluid level I'd want to make sure. There is no trans temp in any of the gauges but I'm wondering if there is one in the hidden menu of the...
