    10R60 Transmission

On the dipstick for the ST the level should be between 3 and 4.5 WITH THE FLUID AT 206°-215°F. THE TEMP OF THE FLUID IS CRITICAL. If the fluid is too cold then the level will be low on the dipstick and vice versa.

loud engine rattle (valve/cam sound) sudden low oil pressure

Yours may but I do not believe this is the norm. I check my oil level on a fairly regular basis and while I've only put about 7000 miles on mine the oil level has never dropped from the full mark. Even when I was experiencing the cold start turbo smoke issue the oil level never dropped.

Squeaking noise coming from lowering springs

I realize that. I was asking when you initially installed the springs did you do it like I asked in post #21.

Squeaking noise coming from lowering springs

So I'm curious. When you installed the rear springs did you disconnect the lower control arm at the knuckle and let it swing down and then swing the lower control arm back up into position with the new spring?

Squeaking noise coming from lowering springs

Don't spray WD40 on the rubber insulators on the top and bottom of the spring as it will just start to decay the insulators and you will end up replacing them sooner than you would like to. If you really feel the need to lube these use a silicone based lubricant. While the insulators can cause...

Squeaking noise coming from lowering springs

A common mistake that is made by diyers and professionals is torquing the control arms during reassembly with the suspension at full droop. This causes undue stress and wear on the bushings and can create noise and longevity issues. Any suspension pivot point must be torqued with the suspension...

Auto up windows not going up to close always.

Your not following the reset procedure correctly. Here it is directly from the Ford manual Start the engine. Press and hold the window control switch until the door window is fully open. Release the window control switch. NOTE: All of the remaining steps must be carried out within 30...

    Bad Vibration After Tire Rotation

I actually see this in the shop a lot and I've always attributed it to car washes or some other contaminant. The pads are hot when the vehicle is stopped and you get those transfer marks as the rotor is cooled. That coupled with whatever the car wash is spraying on your car leaves those nice...

    Bad Vibration After Tire Rotation

I'd like to know what a rotor looks like that has had the brakes locked up over a month ago with what would have had to been abs activation and then driven a couple hundred of miles after the fact.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Is that the spare tire well? Are the wheel weights to add mass to area to cut the resonance down?

Brakes squealing on brand new 2022

That's interesting. Ford lists 3 front brake pads for the ST, standard, police high series and performance. Standard are the cheapest in price and performance are the most expensive ones. As far as i can tell the standard and police have black shims and the performance have the silver shim. Is...

My Performance Pack brakes are dead silent.

    Massage seats

The inflatable lumbar is very susceptible to air pressure changes due to temperature but they should adjust without any input from you (I've felt mine do it). The lumbar can be set to memory and adjust automatically for different memory positions. I find the lumbar useless because I'll set it...

    Bad Vibration After Tire Rotation

Wholesale price is $774 if I remember correctly.

    Bad Vibration After Tire Rotation

List price on the new wheel is $1100. Are they quoting 4 new tires also in that $2100 estimate??

    Bad Vibration After Tire Rotation

Holy shit that's a lot of weight...too much as a matter of fact. Find an independent tire shop and have them dismount the tire and check the rim.

    Bad Vibration After Tire Rotation

I have seen too many times where what was thought to be a bent wheel was actually the cords in the tire that are starting to come apart...on a balancer it looks exactly like a bent wheel.

    Smoking on startup after sitting

I am not the original of my ST but I saw it smoke when I started it at the dealership but I knew then what the issue was. For the next month or so after I bought it would only smoke about once a week then it progressed to every couple of days until finally it did it every day. This is one of...

    Bad Vibration After Tire Rotation

I can honestly say in 30+ years of spinning wrenches professionally I have never seen a tire vibration caused by improperly torqued lug nuts (there's a 1st for everything though) unless they were so loose the wheel was wobbling and dam near ready to fall off. Now I have seen over torqued lug...
