Yes, everything that is bolted to the engine block will get reused.

    Smoking on startup after sitting

I can't find anyone who has had this problem that has definitively said that "XXX" part was replaced and the smoking issue was resolved.

Mine goes in for the same thing on the 30th. Hope this fixed your issue.

    ST vs Aviator for towing

Why do you recommend an aftermarket rear sway bar for towing??

    Real world mpg

I'm intrigued that you think that the Garmin is accurate and that the speedo/odo on the ST is wrong. At a difference of 2.3% it's not enough to worry about as the affect on mpg calculations would be minimal unless your hypermiling.

    Real world mpg

How are you verifying that your odometer is off? As far as the Ram goes of course it is going to be off after changing tire sizes.

    Real world mpg

This is not correct. There are many mfgs that purposefully make the speedometer read faster than actual speed but the odometers are accurate. For example certain model BMW’S read 2 mph faster than actual speed but the odometers are accurate. I think they do this to avoid complaints about...

    Real world mpg

He is saying that the mpg calculation can be off as much as 15%. Typically vehicle odometers are extremely accurate unless you have drastically changed tire circumference and not corrected the vehicles computers.

    Real world mpg

Being that the dash readout is overly optimistic on these things your mpg is on par with mine.

    Real world mpg

Are you guys hand calculating your mpg or just going by what the readout is telling you?

    Real world mpg

So I've had the ST for about 1 1/2 months now and if I throw out the one weekend trip we made I'm averaging 16.6 mpg (hand calculated) with my normal everyday driving. I was hoping for at least 17 especially since I am babying the shit out of this thing. It's 2.5 mpg better than my Ram was...

    Smoking on startup after sitting

Which oil tube did they replace, the supply or the drain? The 2.7 in the F150 had a TSB regarding this issue and the fix for that was replacing the turbo oil supply tube.

18o t stat. Good or bad?

As stated the 180° t stat is stock. Per Ford spec it starts to open at 180° and is fully open at 202°.

18o t stat. Good or bad?

What were you trying to gain by installing a lower temp thermostat?

    ST vs. The Competition

I've owned BMW's for the better part of the last 20 years and I don't understand why people say they cost so much to maintain. I guess if you are having a dealership do all of the maintenance then maybe, but that holds true for every vehicle. Now in the case of the X5M it does hold 10 quarts of...

    BMS Battery Management System

This is not what I would have expected. Can you put a multimeter on the battery and see what your charging system voltage is with these settings?

    BMS Battery Management System

So BMS and BMS SS both disabled causes SS to stop functioning but causes a charging system fault and some electrical consumers to not function correctly. Am I understanding this correctly? It does make sense that with both of them disabled the SS system should not work because that is a main...

    BMS Battery Management System

Yes it is tied in. It's an input for the start/stop and I've already stated that but I don't believe deactivating it is going to disable the start/ stop system...that is what you are trying to do isn't it? I'm interested in your progress is doing so.

    BMS Battery Management System

BMS stands for Battery Monitoring Sensor. It is not responsible for the start/stop system however it is an input that the start stop system uses. If the BMS senses that an electrical load has been placed on the system it will relay this info to the start stop system and initiate an engine start...
