    Oil catch cans

Looking forward to the Mishimoto kit. Much cleaner install than fabricating on our own.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Correct - I think. Might be worth checking with Gibson though. According to the install instructions the clamps supplied are 2.25" even though the specs mention the 2.5" inlet of the mufflers. I'd still check on the specs of those band clamps (it's been a while since I've purchased any) since I...

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

As much as I think the Magnaflow kit has the best sound for the ST, I'm not seeing a point in spending $1600+ on it. With the B.F. discount, getting this kit with the black ceramic tips for $500 is much more pleasant. That being said, if you are not a fan of the u-bolts, it's easy to score lap...

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Not everyone wants an axle-back kit that is just straight pipes. That’s what makes this option decent since it’s noticeable but not necessarily obnoxious.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Yeah, it's a bit cheesy, but Gibson has been in existence for quite a while and lots of their kits are floating around on plenty of trucks. Either way, just another option for anyone wanting to just change out the tips and not have the awful rasp you get with straight pipes. I wouldn't count on...

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Both versions are up on the Gibson site as of today: https://gibsonperformance.com/search.html?#!year%3D2020%7C%7Cmake%3DFORD%7C%7Cmodel%3DEXPLORER%20ST%7C%7Csubmodel%3D3.0L

dumb question, whats button below park brake do?

Ford should put that stuff in the owners manual.

    K&N Filter #33-2395

Same as the one used in the previous generation 3.5L Sport. Took mine out of there and popped it in the ST on the first day. Great deal now for sure at that price.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Definitely! I did suggest they get a good video clip or two once they release the final kit, and use band clamps instead of those awful u-bolts. Will be looking forward to it for sure.

New Gibson axle-back kit in the works

Have been in touch with one of the techs at Gibson over the last several weeks after being curious about a protoype kit a member had sold on here. Anyway, they have an axle-back kit coming out real soon that has two mufflers in it, which won’t make it as loud and raspy as the straight-pipe kits...

    Rear end damage

Could be in many places. Mine was right n the middle above the two diff bolts, which was easy to see when I was changing out the sway bar. From the pictures I posted, looks like there may be several labels plastered all over them. Just have to get under and start looking. Glad to see Ford is...

Steeda tower brace and sway bar. Need advice.

It's a great deal for sure. Wish I would have seen those before I bought mine, although I didn't pay too much more than them. Still every $$$ counts! Glad you got hooked up!

The Thermal R&D cat back exhaust PREMIER!

They are for use with the stock flex pipes. Post on Pg. #6 about it. They are also mentioned in the install video.

    Window Deflectors

The low-profile versions are awful. They don't cover the complete opening so you can't just drop the glass down and inch or since there is a big gap up front by the mirror. Adding to that, they don't adhere very well. AVS/Lund must have gotten lots of complaints since they came out with a...

    Rear end damage

Got a little more curious about something else here, and had to check the build tag on the subframe since I wanted to see the engineering number (which is different from the part number). On my ST which has the four differential bolts, the number on the tag is MLB5C-5B564-AA as shown below...

    Rear end damage

Once you pull the knuckles and half-shafts (after removing the exhaust and brakes, of course), it's probably not a bad job. I've had the subframe out of my '03 Cobra a couple times and it's straightforward if you are prepared. I was always amazed when guys tried to drop the entire assembly in...

    Rear end damage

Doing another relatively quick search, here are some part numbers I dug up for all of them. MB5Z-5035-A: ST, Aviator, & w/o air suspension (shown below) MB5Z-5035-B: Interceptor, & w/air suspension MB5Z-5035-C: 2.3, LX, base (shown in Post #38) Obviously you would have to run your VIN, but...

    Rear end damage

That is my guess on both accounts. Shutting down an assembly line costs big dollars, so someone may have approved the substitution of the other frames without realizing the difference. Hopefully Ford figures it out. One of the guys in a Facebook group works at the plant, so I put the same info...

    Rear end damage

Actually, and from some easy digging, it appears this "single-bolt" subrame is the one used in the base model Explorers that don't have the power of the ST. Here is one I found online from a 2.3 Explorer: When I put my VIN in the Ford parts system (or searched for all ST models), the...

    Rear end damage

The only way to really fix this issue is to replace the subframe with the earlier design that allowed for both bolts. I just can't imagine Ford purposely deleting one bolt in an area where it is sorely needed. Maybe it was a supplier screw-up and the powers-that-be decided to use what they had...
