Why there is no tow eye .............

From the earlier owner's manual (not even included in the latest revision):

    Borla Exhaust Upgrade

Probably the one from DynoMax since there aren't a ton of others out there. The OE one is offset, so this one may not fit since its inlets and outlets are centered. Having an 'X' welded in will probably be easy enough as an alternative.

All the parts are OE Ford - right from the PIU.

Name ONE ST Feature others might not know.....

I had all the police package parts in my '14 and removed that third row. Just as an FYI, the '20-up models also have a similar X-brace that bolts in for structural integrity and crash ratings once you remove those seats. It's something you really don't want to be without. Here's a '20 PIU in...

Name ONE ST Feature others might not know.....

That net can also be attached horizontally and it acts as a cover/shade over anything behind the third row when the seats are up. The two additional hooks for that are right behind the tops of the seats. Explains why the net is on the small side since it's multi-functional. If you want to get a...

Custom ST & Ford Performance gear

It’s all on the site I linked in the original post. For anyone that likes the jacket, they also run one size small. Whatever you’d normally chose, go up. They are nice and fully customizable.

    FORScan adapter

There are a ton, has been asked a bunch of times. Go to eBay and search for something like "forscan elm327" and you'll see many. No need to pay big dollars for them either - mine was $20 and works perfect.

Custom ST & Ford Performance gear

Giving a plug for my friends that own the SVT Store (www.svtstore.com) for anyone wanting custom ST, Ford, and Ford Performance gear. Great way to show your fondness for these vehicles, but supporting a small business it always a bonus. A few things I just picked up as an example:

Go to the links I posted - all the info is there. Standard OBD cords won't work.

    Borla Exhaust Upgrade

It may be off in Sport mode, but I don't recall. It was on in all other modes though, even with the stereo off. I used FORScan. It's the same code as the F-150 in the APIM "as-built" section. You change the '4' to '0':

    Borla Exhaust Upgrade

Lots of info on the web about it. And It can be turned off - you need FORScan to do it on your own or the dealer can take care of it with IDS. One of the first things I did on mine - much more pleasant.

    Borla Exhaust Upgrade

If you really want to hear/enjoy it, turn the goofy fake exhaust sounds off. Staying with the stock exhaust in mine for the time being, but glad not to have the annoying noise coming out of the speakers.

    My Atak quick review

Anyone putting on a new exhaust should definitely shut off the fake exhaust coming through the speakers (done with FORScan or by the dealership via IDS). Even stock, it sounds better without the artificial noise.

Did you purchase an extended warranty?

Did you purchase an extended warranty?

Good call. Ford ESP is the only way to go. Flood is a good source, as is Lombard (they are both up in the NE), and some others that have comparable prices.

Did you purchase an extended warranty?

An 8/100 warranty will run a little over $1500 if you buy it from one of the vendors on the web, as I had mentioned. If you go with the dealership price at the time of vehicle purchase, plan to spend about double that.

There are seven different drive modes. What are the differences?

Typing "Ford Explorer drive modes" in to Google brought up lots of info and video's. Probably the best you'll get...along with what's in the owner's manual.

What did you learn that's not in the Users Manual?

Haven't driven mine at night after a couple weeks of ownership but discovered something that was a change from the 5th Gen models with regards to the LED interior lights. In a spray car wash bay, the dim lighting brought all the interior lights on (I used a lighter blue like on my '14)...
