As far as the traction control, I have ascertained that it does turn back on every time the drive mode is changed.

    Throttle Lag

I don't really claim the same issue but I did once notice throttle lag a few days ago. Hadn't had before then or since. Maybe it was just a high gear bog down. If it were persistent, I would surely consider it a problem.

    OEM Cat

Hi All, I had an exhaust shop inspect the exhaust because I could hear a leak. He said it was a cracked pipe that was part of the left cat. He also said that emissions on these STs have an 8 year warranty and Ford would replace it for free. Is that your experience with these? I thought the...

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Your suggestion led me to a possibility which is what was asked for. I don't think anyone here would hold you to that. As far as any shop is concerned, we all enter at our own risk. It's all good! Thanks!

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Yes, they do service the ST platform. If their pricing is negotiable, they seem doable. They gave me estimates on an IC install, subframe spacers install and a trans oil drain and refill. They said they currently have an ST in there. Just a correction on my post, they spell it Kinetic.

What Have You Done To Your Explorer ST Today

Update: I spoke with a Redline rep and he told me they don't service the ST platform. I spoke of your friend from Waldorf and he wasn't familiar. He did redirect me to Kinectic Autoworks in Millersville. I'm getting some quotes from them as I type.

    ZFG Launch Strategy

Ok, thanks for your thoughts on this. In your opinion, what would it take to overheat the transmission? I would think a prolonged uphill pull with excess weight. Launching is such a short duration it wouldn't seem like that would apply.

Ford Explorer ST Recall 23S23 360 Degree Camera Stop Sale

I've had it happen but only when there was some obstruction. Not knowing that feature existed, it made me think I did hit what I was close to because it's so abrupt. I decided to disable it knowing I've never previously backed into anything. You can do the same if it's that bothersome.

    ZFG Launch Strategy

I'm not sure of today's technology by comparison but in the past, brake launching (what we used to call power braking) wreaked havoc on the converter. In fact, I had blown a front seal on the tranny. I rarely had done it so it wasn't previously abused. Are today's converters and transmissions up...

List of common mistakes and issues when increasing performance on Explorer ST platform

Thanks for sharing your technique. Don't have a Quickjack but don't mind checking after a 15 mi run. I saw the Valvoline ULV. There's also an approved full synthetic ULV by Kendall. For argument's sake, I think I'll use the Mercon.
