    Throwin codes

ST is back. Codes gone. Source was a bad front half shaft speed sensor. Not uncommon from what I'm told. Believe there is a TSB on it. They did some "investigating" in the back. Got a little chilly in Charlotte and I left a coat in the back seat, when I went to the dealership to retrieve...

Trying to find a place to do Mods

Just remembered, Todd Turlock at Tullock Automotive is an old gearhead in Matthews. He's done work on my wife's Acura. Fair pricing, and good work. His passion is older hot rods but I'm sure he'll welcome the ST crowd.

Trying to find a place to do Mods

What are you looking for? I was able to get my Steeda springs and swaybar purchased and installed by Hilbish Ford in Concord, near Charlotte. Seemed easy to deal with. Not sure what else they'll do. See if you can find a dealership that is heavy into Roush Mustangs. Forget Crossroads Ford.

    Good clean humor and jokes

If I could quote what the dog appears to be thinking it would be, "I'm going to poop in your shoes tonight!"

    Blip in acceleration?

KKRISTAL, thank you for the insight. Your explanation makes sense. The Explorer is quiet especially at cruising speed and below where the FENG kicks in. Mine is still in the shop awaiting parts for the other issues. I've found this site very insightful (and a little entertaining at times). I...

    Black Friday Steeda sale.

Springs were available right away, bar took longer. When I ordered in early Nov. I recall them having fit issues when using HR springs. I want to say that was the reason for the delay. Regardless, worth the wait. I too have had six people loaded up with luggage in back and on top and the road...

    Blip in acceleration?

Have something similar. Around that speed, maybe lower, under light acceleration (normal mode) there is a slight hesitation and what sounds like a humming coming from the front. Quicker acceleration or in sport mode, don't notice it, FENG my drown it out. In shop now for other things as well...

    Throwin codes

Off to the dealer again. They were nice enough to hook me up in an Edge ST. Info center really lit up this time 10k miles. Followed advice and took plenty of pictures. My Ford Pass info center looks exactly like Rchuro above, with the addition of cruise control being inoperative and the drive...

Explorer ST Engine Knock when cold

I'm not an alarmist but I had a simular thing with a first year Volvo S80. Deep thumping knock much like a rod knock. Every time I took it to the dealer it had gone away. Told them to keep the car until they figured it out and only try under a cold start. They found it was piston slap. They...

    Black Friday Steeda sale.

This is a good deal. The better deal is what this bar matched with a set of Steeda springs will do for the handling. I'm 400 miles in on the set up. One word. Awesome. Lowered about an inch, no alignment adjustment required. Great road feel without being harsh. Very happy with the results.

Who's ST came with the undercover between the two mufflers??

Survival tool. If you are ever on a lake that has Grass Carp you can use it as a net.

    Build Dates

I believe each letter denotes 100,000 explorer units, not just STs. If your date code is B, it is one of the second 100,000 explorers built. The thinking was the more ford built the better chance they had worked out most of the new platform bugs. Maybe true, maybe not but my C code has 9k...

    Build Dates

Did you mean build date 10-15-20? G code was plant of origin. All 2020 ST were built in Chicago. Oct. 2019 had to be an A code or B

Who's ST came with the undercover between the two mufflers??

When I purchased mine I had a list of items to check prior to drive off. Rear deflector, fuel funnel and front tow bolt, amoung others. All had to be ordered. When they came in dealer installed. As sales guy and I were scavenging other models to find some of the stuff we came across a cargo...

Thank you for the heads up! Trolled your past posts and saw you had a similar issue. I'm at 8k as well. I'm checking what you suggested. You and many others make this site a great source of valuable info. Thank you

Just saw this post. You're gonna love the explorer ST. Just remember, when you punch it, be ready and hang on. No tune yet on mine. The guys and gals that have 500 hp tune I can't imagine what that must feel like. Hans Solo hitting the hyper drive comes to mind

    Delivery Checklist?

Best of luck with the 2021. Bound to be a better experience than the first time around. Go to the explorerforum.com site. Search the topics for "missing parts". I used it when taking delivery of my 2020. Includes pictures and many times part numbers. Put together a whole shopping list...
