True , but if the main bolt snaps these other 2 bolts are for sure snapping as well.

This is a great idea, but since Ford is aware of the issues, I think this would cause more of a concern on any breakage issues that may arise. Just not sure how much stress those small cover bolts could take as well.

True and start adding your packages to the SRT and you will be close to 80K. Not to mention that MPG in the SRT is a killer (but nothing beats the sound of a hefty V8). The Durango RT is more on par in price with the ST though, but its performance is lack luster.

No I don't, I have seen all the documents ...even from the Ford service department just on Monday.

The Recall is for the PCM to apply the E-Brake automatically at all times when the car is placed in park. They are not doing anything at the moment about the bolt fracture except for on PIU explorers. With that fix possibly coming to general explorers down the road according to my service manager.

Agreed here.....Reviews are always biased it seems. Also sometimes I think they are also paid by the automaker. When I was in the market I test drove the the explorer ST, Telluride, and Lexus RX.......All I can really say is the Kia and Lexus had really nice interior....I don't pay too much...

Update, I had my service appt this morning. They inspected it and said all looks good and no signs of stress. He stated the partial fix is the e-brake update some time end of May or beginning June the update will be out. They also heard the new parts the PIU get will likely be also applied to...

Ok ….they are admitting in that article why the part is failing. My guess is a few more issues of this happening or a accident caused from the break will result in the rest of us getting the fix just like the PIU.

They kind of in a way admitted fault , the Lincoln aviator uses the same subframe and they all have the 2 rear bolts on them, they were not recalled. Im honestly curious did people with the correct subframe get the recall through the Ford app?

The e-brake program is fine , they are honestly avoiding the issue though. My guess is they are waiting to see how much fails they have before implementing the proper fix to non PIU. My visit to my dealer on this coming Monday has me curious to see what they say. Not sure why they would schedule...
