Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

Do you have a ST, if so what’s the reason you bought it? I bought mine for the way it drives …so yeah it would matter. I would be fine with the e-brake update only.

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

Honestly there is nothing wrong with people worried about the possibility of changing the way their car drives or performs. I think the bigger issue issue is Ford knows there is a problem, their way of fixing it is preventing it from rolling after it happens.....but actually what might happen...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

I Very odd.....So they are just ignoring the real problem due to cost.

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

Thanks, I have appt , next Monday at the dealer. If they do tell me the fix will be a flash, I absoloutly love the car but it will be time to honestly start looking to trade it in. This sort of fix to correct a issue that they made because of a part change for whatever reason is not right...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

doubtful....the only thing I can see causing a warranty issue on a fail would the install of those aftermarket braces

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

I tried to confirm that no PCM update will be done, I got put on hold and he talked to someone else and stated a part will be order if needed. So to be continued....has me curious but not hopeful. Honestly just trying to get get more info on this out of them honestly. I know @MattJ716 works at...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

I just called my Ford service dept again, I asked about the recall and they said the vehicle would need inspection first and then the part would be ordered if needed. So this really has me curious now. So I have a appt on 5/2 at 7:40AM more to come on that.

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

I understand they wont take any power away , but they will need to take the some of the strain off the mount. I only see this done by changing how the launch and shifts are done (especially in Sports mode) this will change how the vehicle drives...it would not be the same vehicle we purchased...

Safety Recall 22S27 Rear Axle Bolt Fractures

Since we honestly don't know what the end fix is yet, we are all just coming to conclusions and rightfully so when they mention programing the PCM to fix the issue. Honestly if the fix is changing the launch and softer shifts, this will dramatically change how the vehicle feels. Is this actually...

    Rear end damage

@MattJ716 Did you hear anything further?

    Rear end damage

Does anybody have the TSB that was issued the the bolt did break? I thought the fix for that was to replace with the correct part. If that is the case the TSB seems to contradict the recall PCM update for the same issue.

    Rear end damage

It does seem that way, but under the subject is say certain 2020-2022 models....which is still vague

    Rear end damage

    Yeah, this is very disappointing

    Rear end damage

This....you are correct. We bought vehicles based on 400HP and 415FT. Its very odd though that the interceptor will be getting parts and the non police units get a PCM update.

    Rear end damage

I honestly do not think they will detune the vehicle, this would cause more problems for them. It would no longer be the vehicle you purchased. You were sold a vehicle with 400HP and 415FT. My guess is they need to get the enough stockpile of the parts needed before they issue the full recall.

    Rear end damage

Actually just called my service dept….they said this is just advanced notice and no remedy has been made available to the service dept. they stated they have to wait until ford completes the recall notice. Said we should get another notice in the app. Not sure how C4talyst got his scheduled.

    Rear end damage

It’s odd there is nothing listed in the description, remedy, and safety risk.

Why we didn't buy an Explorer ST, and other various thoughts

You still don't make sense , if you looked at them in 18-19 and they were doing crazy deals which I doubt....the explorer ST was not even out so you can't even compare prices. The SRT line in any dodge has never been heavily discounted. not to mention you are talking way over 20k...

Why we didn't buy an Explorer ST, and other various thoughts

Im not sure where you ever seen a Durango SRT for 55-60K, Maybe a RT...I looked at a Durango SRT in 2019 before prices were crazy and with options added the best price the dealer would do was 73k...I paid 53k (MSRP 59k) for my ST a year ago. So for the price point of the ST you will not find any...

    Intelligent Access Door Handles

I get what your saying but if she strapping in your child to the rear seat with the door open , the passenger door is already likely unlocked. Anybody is vulnerable to anything with a car door already open not paying attention.....The whole door unlock thing is not a huge safety concern as some...
