Abusing an Explorer ST for science

Okay, Sstockss hasn't responded and since there have been no new comments since my 6/21 post we'll just have to conclude he has a 1/3 bolt. All the better!

    What's everyone's drive mode?

Same here. If I wanted to drive "Eco", I would've bought a Maglite-On-Wheels.

    What's everyone's drive mode?

Okay, it has to be the tune then as I also drive in a spirited manner. The formula remains unchanged: More HP = More Air + More Fuel

    Ford to cut 8,000 jobs

Sorry to hear your sister bought into the world wide scam. I'm sure she's a nice person. But sooner or later, people who advocate for that kind of stuff are forced into hypocrisy because that's its natural end. Maglites-On-Wheels are a fantasy, power grids will never be able to handle them, and...

    Ford to cut 8,000 jobs

Can't believe that many people stand to lose their jobs over interest in batteries-on-wheels. Not right. 97% of all vehicles in the world are ICE because no wants to waste time charging their ride. Plus, no country has a sufficient power grid to handle them. The whole thing is a complete scam...

    What's everyone's drive mode?

I'm 100% Sport Mode and I'm getting a very consistent 20 mpg combined.(y) P.S. What is this "Eco" mode people are talking about? ;)

    Steeda Police Interceptor

Exactly. From a safety standpoint, it's not about who pays for the repair, it's about the potential danger of something breaking while on a pursuit. "5,000 posts" Lol But the 3.3L PIU's are getting the bushing and axle cover replaced.

    Window sticker

I've laminated the window stickers of all my cars that were unique and special, which quite obviously would include the ST.

    Enhancing all the badging?

Don't know if this guy is on our forum. He did some really interesting things with the lettering, proudly highlights our vehicle's branding.(y)

Welcome to the Explorer ST Forum, please post an introduction

Greetings! Great to see the 20 inchers representing on your red and silver ST's.(y) I considered painting my wheels black, but over the years I've become a stickler for keeping things 100% OEM so machined they stay.

Terrible weekend with catastrophic ST failure

I'd have to agree. I don't think anyone would view a "catastrophic" failure as anything but permanent. More like a "system failure" as opposed to a "catastrophic failure." Now if the dealer diagnoses it saying you need a new engine or something, then yes.

    ST vs. The Competition

Data supports the 1/3 bolt is a non issue for stock ST's. Tuned, it's a gamble, and not one I'm willing to take. Brace is a not an option as I don't want my warranty getting hassled. So a 100% bone stock high 13 sec SUV that cost me $53k new, it'll do just fine.

    Rear end damage

I think your dealer is a bit confused. There is nothing else for them to tell you, the e-brake flash is the only thing FORD offers.

    Rear end damage

No company is going to spend 3/4 billion dollars on something that's only effected .09% of their product unless it involves a life threatening issue. Exploding gas tanks, yes. Engines self igniting, yes. A bolt shearing, nope.

First wash with Chemical Bros Products

I found the Technicians Choice really lit up the black paint on my Stinger GT, but not seeing an incredible difference with it on my ST's Iconic Silver? I can't imagine how good the upgraded brakes are, because the standard brakes on my ST are so freaking good. And the 20" have to be more...

    Rear end damage

I don't see FORD offering anything but an e-brake re-flash. New subframes on all of the 252,936 cars involved would cost them 758 million dollars. Not happening ...

    new here

Then how'd you wash your roof? I find it's of indispensable value for that alone.
